She was often referred to as Kelsey A. on the show, as there was another woman in the cast, Kelsey Toussant<\/strong>, with the same first name.<\/span><\/p>\n

My mom was Soldier of the Year multiple times. When I was born she got out of the army.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelsey now resides in New Orleans, Louisiana. In the southern city, \u201cshe enjoys taking the streetcar to new restaurants, walking around the French market and having a picnic with her friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, she said in her ABC bio that she also wants to start her own nonprofit one day. Kelsey already appears to do a lot of charity work and even has a link for the organization HandsOn New Orleans in her Instagram<\/a> bio. What Happened to The Bachelor\u2019s Kelsey Anderson\u2019s Mom?<\/h2>\n

Kelsey opened up about her mom\u2019s death while on her first one-on-one date with Joey. \u201cAbout ten years ago, she got diagnosed with breast cancer and it metastasized on her bones,\u201d she revealed. \u201cThey gave her six months. After that it was just very aggressive and after, I think, about two months, she passed away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Being on The Bachelor<\/em> was admittedly hard for Kelsey because she knew how much her mom would be missing if she got engaged at the end. \u201cIt\u2019s just hard for me to sometimes think about my mom not being there at my wedding,\u201d she shared. \u201cThe special moments.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, there were two moments before filming began that led Kelsey on her journey to the show. \u201cWhenever I see butterflies, it feels like it\u2019s my mom there,\u201d she said. \u201cRight before I came on here, I was getting off of work and I saw butterflies in the middle of the city of New Orleans and that was kind of reassuring to me. On the way to the airport, I was on the phone with my dad and I was like, \u2018What do you think mom would think about all of this?\u2019 and he told me, \u2018You\u2019re your mother\u2019s child. You\u2019re so brave.\u2019 He was like, \u2018It\u2019s something your mom would do.\u2019 He felt like I was exuding my mom\u2019s energy, I guess.\u201d<\/p>\n

On her second one-on-one date, Kelsey said that she got closer with her dad after her mom\u2019s death. She praised him for raising five children after losing his wife.<\/p>\n

Kelsey is the winner<\/a> of season 28 of The Bachelor<\/em>, Reality Steve reported on February 27, 2024. She reportedly got engaged to Joey at the final rose ceremony in Mexico.<\/p>\n
