Jinger Duggar is preparing to release a new memoir. And fans are anxious to see how her family will react. (Photo via Instagram)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nSo what does this book launch have to do with Jim Bob and Michelle and the current tensions?<\/p>\n
Well, Jinger and Jeremy didn\u2019t bring their kids. That\u2019s for the best. Book launches only work for little kids if they\u2019re children\u2019s books. Jinger\u2019s memoir is decidedly not.<\/p>\n
But Jinger and Jeremy didn\u2019t leave four-year-old Felicity and two-year-old Eva in the care of Michelle (or, more accurately, the overly-put-upon elder siblings whom Michelle tasks with childcare).<\/p>\nJinger, Jeremy and Felicity Vuolo out for a walk in Los Angeles. Beautiful family.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nInstead, Jinger revealed, the kids stayed behind at their home in California. Not by themselves, of course.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe decided to leave our kids here, Jer\u2019s mom flew in to watch them\u201c Jinger revealed on YouTube this week.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe time zones and everything are just rough for them to get adjusted to,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\nJinger, Jeremy and Felicity Vuolo pose for a cute photo!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nJinger then continued: \u201cOnly to go back and have to work on their bedtime routines again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Time zone changes and jet lag can be a nightmare for grown adults. Especially those of us whose natural sleep cycles are already <\/em>at odds with the hours of work, parenting, and more.<\/p>\nIt is even harder for small children. They are so new to the world, and their sleep is so important \u2014 and, often, so difficult.<\/p>\nJinger and Jeremy are catching a lot of flak for their first children\u2019s book. (Photo via Instagram)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nOn the surface, the most likely reason for Jeremy\u2019s mom to fly in instead of for the kids to fly to Arkansas for childcare is that, well, it\u2019s easier for one adult to make the trip.<\/p>\n
And maybe that was all that there is to it.<\/p>\n
But there are definitely multiple good reasons to keep the kids away from the Duggar house at the moment. <\/p>\nJinger Duggar is making yet another bold fashion statement. Clearly, she\u2019s loving her life of freedom!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nNo, we don\u2019t just mean that the kids can receive personalized attention from one adult that they couldn\u2019t among a crowd.<\/p>\n
And we also don\u2019t mean that Michelle is a terrible parent whom most of us wouldn\u2019t trust to watch a houseplant, let alone a human child.<\/p>\n
(It\u2019s true, but that\u2019s not what we mean here)<\/p>\nCounting On star Michelle Duggar speaks about raising her children within their toxic, controlling home while Jim Bob Duggar listens.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nWe mean that it looks like Jinger and Jeremy aren\u2019t looking to rely on the Duggars for much of anything right now.<\/p>\n
Not for childcare. And seemingly not for emotional support.<\/p>\n
Part of that is just because they live in Los Angeles. But even Michelle\u2019s most diehard apologists (they do exist) have to admit that it\u2019s not entirely about geography.<\/p>\nCertainly, Jinger cannot rely upon Michelle to promote her memoir.<\/p>\n
Days ago, Michelle resurfaced on Instagram \u2014 a big deal, considering all of the Duggar stigma these days \u2014 to promote James\u2019 travel vlog. <\/p>\n
Not one <\/em>mention about Jinger\u2019s book. Can you imagine a mother not happily telling everyone she knows about her child\u2019s book<\/em>?
