Here\u2019s what we know so far.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-david-gail-s-cause-of-death-how-did-90210-star-die\">David Gail\u2019s Cause Of Death: How Did \u201890210\u2019 Star Die?<\/h2>\n<p>While there have been reports that David passed away due to a heart issue, it took over a month for the official cause of death to be released.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from Gail\u2019s publicist on behalf of his family, David died of anoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, a brain injury resulting from lack of blood, following resuscitation from cardio pulmonary arrest due to drug intoxication from substances including amphetamines, cocaine, ethanol and fentanyl.<\/p>\n<p>Another young life taken by drugs. Such a shame. <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-4\">In the statement, Gail\u2019s mom, Mary Painter, shared her heartbreak over her son\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-6\">\u201cIt breaks my heart to learn that my son died this way,\u201d Painter said. \u201cDavid became reliant on medicine many years ago, after multiple surgeries on his hands and wrists. He lived in enough pain to prevent him from working for almost a decade, with relief only achieved through full disability, physical therapy and pain medicine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite her loss, David\u2019s mother hoped some good could come from her son\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDavid\u2019s death shines a light on the countless innocent victims of pharmaceutical addiction and the fentanyl epidemic that has taken so many of our sons and daughters,\u201d she added in the statement. \u201cPlease keep David, and others battling pain or dependence, in your thoughts and prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-david-s-death-announced\">David\u2019s Death Announced<\/h2>\n<p>His death was announced on Saturday\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C2VoAmDxEG_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">on Instagram<\/a>\u00a0by Katie Colmenares, his sister.<\/p>\n<p>She did, however, post a very moving tribute. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C2VoAmDxEG_\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s barely been even a day in my life when you were not with me by my side always my wingman always my best friend ready to face anything and anyone w me,\u201d Ms. Colmenares wrote, adding, \u201cI will hold you so tight every day in my heart you gorgeous loving amazing fierce human being missing you every second of every day forever there will never be another.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, however, the Gail family confirmed that David died of complications from sudden cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency personnel reportedly found Gail unresponsive and performed CPR but were unable to revive him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe family has no reason to suspect the cause of his death was anything but heart failure,\u201d a representative for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1393632\/beverly-hills-90210-actor-david-gails-cause-of-death-revealed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the family explained<\/a> in a statement to E! News. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDavid will be remembered for his love of acting and his absolute passion and dedication to his friends and family. He possessed a unique quality that made everyone feel special in his presence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely touched by the outpouring of love from David\u2019s dedicated fans and colleagues.
