Jodie Turner-Smith<\/strong><\/a> doesn\u2019t see her marriage to Joshua Jackson<\/strong><\/a> as \u201ca failure\u201d despite filing for divorce.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes things we really want to work just don\u2019t end up working,\u201d Turner-Smith, 37, shared during an interview with the U.K.\u2019s The Times<\/em><\/a>, published on Sunday, February 25. \u201cAnd that\u2019s OK. The most important thing is that you choose what\u2019s healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThere are so many different moments in our life where we look at ourselves and say, \u2018Who am I and am I being true to that?\u2019 If the answer is no, then you have to make a move because I believe that there are visible scars from staying in places that are not good for us. And they don\u2019t just affect us, they affect everybody around us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Turner-Smith was married to Jackson, 45, for four years before Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed in October 2023 that she had filed for divorce. Us<\/em> broke the news in December 2019 that the twosome quietly tied the knot<\/a>, and they welcomed a daughter one year later.<\/p>\n

A source told Us Weekly at the time that the pair looked \u201csuper smitten\u201d with one [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe obviously had such a beautiful moment together. And now it\u2019s time for a new moment for both of us. While she didn\u2019t offer specifics about where she stands with Jackson now, Turner-Smith said there\u2019s \u201cjust as much love and joy as it has always been\u201d for the sake of their 3-year-old child.<\/p>\n

Turner-Smith cited \u201cirreconcilable differences\u201d as the reason for the pair\u2019s split in her divorce filing, listing their separation date as September 13, 2023. Jackson subsequently filed a response, which was obtained by Us<\/em> in November 2023, and listed their date of separation<\/a> as September 30, 2023.<\/p>\n

Both actors have requested to share joint legal and physical custody of their daughter.<\/p>\n

Following news of the duo\u2019s divorce, a source exclusively told Us<\/em> that Jackson was \u201ccaught off guard\u201d<\/a> by Turner-Smith\u2019s filing.<\/p>\n
