\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Jodie Turner-Smith<\/strong><\/a> is breaking her silence on her divorce from Joshua Jackson<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The 37-year-old actress filed papers back in October 2023<\/a> to divorce the 45-year-old actor. <\/p>\n She cited \u201cirreconcilable differences\u201d and requested joint custody for the couple\u2019s three-year-old daughter<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a new interview, Jodie<\/strong> opened up about her divorce for the first time.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out what she shared\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s a failure,\u201d Jodie<\/strong> shared with the UK\u2019s Sunday Times<\/a><\/em>. \u201cWe obviously had such a beautiful moment together. And now it\u2019s time for a new moment for both of us. And how exciting! The bravest thing in the world is to recognize when something\u2019s not working and to make a move, and I always want to set that kind of example for my daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe big takeaway is that this is about just as much love and joy as it has always been. This is only about taking a step forward into a better life for everybody involved,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Jodie <\/strong>also opened up about how their daughter is their priority and staying true to what\u2019s best for you.<\/p>\n \u201cSometimes things we really want to work just don\u2019t end up working. And that\u2019s OK,\u201d she said. \u201cThe most important thing is that you choose what\u2019s healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children. There are so many different moments in our life where we look at ourselves and say, \u2018Who am I and am I being true to that?\u2019 If the answer is no, then you have to make a move because I believe that there are visible scars from staying in places that are not good for us. And they don\u2019t just affect us, they affect everybody around us.\u201d<\/p>\n Jodie<\/strong> and Joshua<\/strong> reached a custody agreement just a month after the divorce papers were filed, but they did disagree on one thing<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
