Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a> is showing her support for Janet Jackson<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to this beautiful lady for keeping my dreams and heart alive,\u201d Spears, 42, wrote via Instagram in a since-deleted post on Saturday, February 24. \u201cShe\u2019s always been the deepest and brightest woman at the same time. She went through so much but I feel she is someone I will look up to for the rest of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cToxic\u201d singer also shared a snap of Jackson\u2019s 1993 Janet<\/em> album cover, writing, \u201cThank you for your music and your divine way of untangling intelligence to a far more clear view than anyone could ever imagine.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post, which comes amid Spears\u2019 reignited feud with Justin Timberlake<\/strong><\/a>, seemingly references the controversy surrounding Jackson and Timberlake\u2019s Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime Show.<\/p>\n

Justin Timberlake has been somewhat vocal about his and Janet Jackson\u2019s Super Bowl controversy through the years \u2014 but he didn\u2019t publicly apologize to her until February 2021. The \u201cSexy Back\u201d crooner turned heads in February 2004 when he grabbed Jackson\u2019s leather top during the Super Bowl XXXVI halftime show, revealing her [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

During the 2004 performance, Timberlake, 43, grabbed Jackson\u2019s leather top which led to her breast being revealed to viewers. (Timberlake later said in a statement that the \u201cwardrobe malfunction\u201d was \u201cnot intentional and is regrettable.\u201d)<\/p>\n

In 2021, Timberlake issued another apology directed towards both Jackson and Spears. He explained he \u201cfailed\u201d<\/a> both Spears, whom he dated from 1999 to 2002, and Jackson, who faced the majority of the backlash after the Super Bowl. (His comments came after his relationship with Spears resurfaced as part of the Framing Britney Spears<\/em> documentary.)<\/p>\n

Timberlake\u2019s relationship with Spears has since made headlines again, following the release of her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me<\/em>, where she claimed Timberlake cheated on her \u201ca couple of times.\u201d She also alleged that she had an abortion because he wasn\u2019t ready to become a parent.<\/p>\n

After the book\u2019s release, a source exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in October 2023 that Timberlake didn\u2019t think Spears would \u201cair out their very personal, dirty laundry,\u201d but rather talk about their ups and downs in \u201cmore general terms.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spears appeared to issue an apology last month, writing via Instagram, \u201cIf I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response, Timberlake seemingly threw shade at his ex during a performance later that month in New York City, saying, \u201cI\u2019d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f\u2013king nobody,\u201d before singing his 2002 break up ballad, \u201cCry Me a River,\u201d which is believed to be inspired by his split from Spears.<\/p>\n

Spears quickly retracted her apology in a message via Instagram earlier this month, writing,
\u201cSomeone told me someone was talking s\u2013t about me on the streets !!! Do you want to bring it to the court or will you go home crying to your mom like you did last time ??? I\u2019m not sorry !!!\u201d<\/p>\n
