Olivia Rodrigo<\/strong><\/a> celebrated turning 21 in style.<\/p>\n

On the opening night of her Guts World Tour<\/em> \u2014 which kicked off on Friday, February 23, in Palm Desert, California \u2014 Rodrigo shared with the crowd that, in honor of her 21st birthday, she went to a gas station to buy beer and cigarettes. However, she revealed that she didn\u2019t drink or smoke her purchases \u2014 it was simply a right of passage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went to the gas station the other day and bought a pack of cigarettes and a six pack of beer,\u201d she told the crowd, per footage on TikTok<\/a>. \u201cI promise I didn\u2019t consume it, but I just bought it because I f\u2013king could.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded, \u201cAnyway, all this to say that I think growing up isn\u2019t so scary after all and life just kind of gets better at the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodrigo turned 21 on Tuesday, February 20. She shared a series of photos via Instagram<\/a> from her birthday party, which was attended by friends Tate McRae<\/strong>, Iris Apatow<\/strong>, Conan Gray<\/strong> and The Kid LAROI<\/strong>, among others. \u201cToday is my last day of being able to underage drink (hypothetically) !!!!\u201d the \u201cGet Him Back\u201d musician captioned the photos.<\/p>\n

In a separate post via Instagram<\/a> for her special day, Rodrigo wrote, \u201c21!!! so grateful for all of the incredible things I\u2019ve been able to experience so far and so excited for all the good times ahead\ud83d\udc93\ud83d\udc93\ud83d\udc93 thx 4 all the love\ud83d\udc8b.\u201d The post included a throwback photo of Rodrigo in elementary school wearing a handmade, paper birthday crown.<\/p>\n
