Eight years after the lavish upstairs\/downstairs series Downton Abbey<\/em> aired its final episode, the Crawley family is reportedly coming back for season 7. \u201cThe production has been shrouded in secrecy and word is, the cast and crew have signed nondisclosures, but filming has begun,\u201d a source exclusively tells Life & Style<\/em>. \u201cThere\u2019s no doubt they\u2019re shooting at Highclere Castle and new cast members have been added.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans were treated to two theatrical outings after the series ended, 2019\u2019s Downton Abbey<\/em>, in which the family hosted the king and queen of England, and Downton Abbey: A New Era<\/em>, which took the action to the south of France \u2014 and brought a silent-film crew to Downton \u2014 in 2022.\u00a0The fact that the films earned a combined $287.4 million at the box office no doubt has something to do with the reboot, but creator Julian Fellowes<\/strong> (who also created Max\u2019s The Gilded Age<\/em>) has always said never say never. \u201cI have said goodbye to Downton so many times, and I have written the last scene about six or seven times,\u201d he teased last year. \u201cNow I\u2019ve got out of the habit of making permanent statements whether it\u2019s gone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
