The cast of Summer House<\/em><\/a> has proven time and again that the Hamptons are not always conducive to successful relationships \u2014 and the season 8 premiere<\/a> was no different.<\/p>\n

When the new season began on Thursday, February 22, not all the couples<\/a> in the house were off to a good start.<\/p>\n

While Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed<\/a> in August 2023 that Lindsay Hubbard<\/strong><\/a> and Carl Radke<\/strong><\/a> called off their engagement, they were happily living together when the new season picked up. (Filming began in June 2023.)<\/p>\n

Amanda Batula<\/strong><\/a> and Kyle Cooke<\/strong><\/a>, however, were not as excited about their relationship status. In fact, the tension between the married pair was clear from the first few seconds in the Hamptons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like we\u2019re struggling to be on the same team about anything,\u201d Kyle, 41, told the cameras about his wife of two years. \u201cWe don\u2019t see eye to eye on our work-life balance. We\u2019re on two different planets.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amanda, 32, and Kyle drove from the city to the Hamptons with newbie West Wilson<\/strong>. While they appeared to be in good spirits on the drive, once they were in the house, it was clear there was trouble in paradise.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I want for this summer is to actually spend time together<\/a>,\u201d Kyle told Amanda while the group was at the local carnival. Amanda argued that all Kyle does is \u201cspend time in your office,\u201d which is part of the disconnect.<\/p>\n

Kyle explained that he misses his wife when he travels for work and often wonders, \u201cDo you miss me?\u201d Although Amanda said she does miss him when she leaves the apartment, she feels fine when she\u2019s home alone with their dogs.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tKyle Cooke and Amanda Batula have weathered reality TV drama, cheating scandals and wedding delays throughout their relationship \u2014 and they\u2019re still going strong. The Summer House stars\u2019 romance has played out on the Bravo series since season 1, which premiered in January 2017. Cooke, who met Batula during the summer of 2015, signed on [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI want to go back to the basics. Where we are a little more inseparable,\u201d Kyle insisted, to which Amanda replied, \u201cWe\u2019ll get our summer to get our groove back.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Kyle told Paige DeSorbo<\/strong><\/a> that he was \u201cscared s\u2013tless\u201d about taking the next step with Amanda, he confessed, \u201cI don\u2019t feel like our partnership is fully functioning. The thought of adding kids into that mix scares the s\u2013t out of me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paige, 31, relayed that message to Amanda, but she didn\u2019t believe it<\/a>. \u201cHe wants to feel like you\u2019re 50\/50 on everything,\u201d Paige said, to which Amanda quipped, \u201cHe\u2019s full of s\u2013t. The proof is in the pudding. Last night he said, \u2018I wanna hang out with you more.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Let\u2019s go on the Ferris wheel together.\u2019 Then he went on rides with the stuffed animal that he won. He makes s\u2013t up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCarl, God bless him, has not been helpful,\u201d Lindsay, 37, said of her then-fianc\u00e9<\/a>, 39, as the pair packed for a weekend out of the city. \u201cThis is not my wedding, it\u2019s our wedding. It would be nice to have a little help.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Lindsay was desperate for a break from wedding planning, both she and Carl were excited to spend 4th of July weekend in Washington, D.C. at the White House. The twosome were all smiles in the videos they shared from their trip.<\/p>\n

Paige and Craig, 35, marked their two-year anniversary<\/a> in summer 2023 and, according to Paige, they started off the season in a good place.<\/p>\n

\u201cCraig is my sweet, sweet, sensitive, childlike boyfriend. I have been taking care of him now for two years,\u201d she told the cameras. \u201cCurrently, we\u2019re still doing long distance. But I feel, like, in a good rhythm now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paige recalled chatting with Craig on season 9 of Southern Charm<\/em><\/a>, which filmed in spring 2023, and coming to an agreement about their future. \u201cWe had a conversation where I assured him, \u2018I\u2019m not going anywhere, so chill,\u2019\u201d she explained on Summer House<\/em>. \u201cI love him so much, but I still love me and I\u2019m still going to do whatever I want to do and that happens to be in the Hamptons with my friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Danielle, 35, publicly announced her split from Robert in February 2023, telling Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a> that the couple parted ways \u201cright before Thanksgiving.\u201d When she filmed season 8 of Summer House<\/em>, Danielle was \u201cexcited\u201d about being single in the Hamptons for the first time in three years.<\/p>\n
