Joe Manganiello<\/strong><\/a> seemingly lives by the mantra, once a werewolf, always werewolf, which means a True Blood<\/em><\/a> reunion is never off the table.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always looking for the right werewolf script,\u201d Manganiello, 47, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em>\u00a0while promoting the premiere of Deal or No Deal Island<\/em><\/a>. He noted that reprising the role of Alcide Herveaux<\/a> is never far from his mind.<\/p>\n

Manganiello confessed he doesn\u2019t \u201cknow what form that would come in\u201d since his True Blood<\/em> character was killed off<\/a> during the show\u2019s final season.<\/p>\n

The actor, who played werewolf Alcide from 2010 to 2014, told Us<\/em> he\u2019s continually searching for another avenue to play the mythical creature.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think [with] my character, my arc, I felt like there was a lot of gas left in the tank for me,\u201d Manganiello explained. \u201cAnd I hope that someday I get to, I don\u2019t know, like Clint Eastwood<\/strong> got the Unforgiven<\/em> to kind of cap off his career as a cowboy. I hope that there\u2019s some werewolf version of Unforgiven<\/em> for me somewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manganiello joined the cast of True Blood<\/em> during season 3 in 2010. He quickly became a fan favorite due to his kind heart and frequent shirtless scenes due to his wolf transformations<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the show\u2019s final season, Alcide was in a relationship with lead character Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin<\/strong>), although she still loved her vampire ex Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

True Blood hooked fans in with its dark depiction of vampire life in Bon Temps, Louisiana, in 2008, and its pull is still felt by many of the show\u2019s fans today. From 2008 to 2014, viewers tuned in to see telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) attempt to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When Alcide once again saved Sookie\u2019s life, this time from the Hep V vamps, he was fatally shot in the chest by a vigilante while he was fully naked. Manganiello told Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a> at the time that he knew Alcide\u2019s fate before reading the script.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are you gonna do with Alcide if he\u2019s with Sookie? We\u2019re gonna have a nice wedding and take off for Bermuda, then move away from town and stay there and have babies? That\u2019s not the show,\u201d Manganiello told the outlet in July 2014. \u201cThe fairy has to be with the vampire, so you gotta get the werewolf outta the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

He reasoned, \u201cYou can\u2019t have her break Alcide\u2019s heart, because then people won\u2019t like Sookie \u2014 they\u2019ll get mad at her for breaking the good guy\u2019s heart. So it\u2019s the only choice you have, really \u2014 you gotta kill him.\u201d<\/p>\n

While fans were heartbroken to lose Manganiello, the actor was excited by the \u201csuspenseful\u201d way his character was written off. \u201cI get shot in the head by this random character whose name I don\u2019t even know and die naked in the woods,\u201d he said of the wild ending<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since exiting True Blood<\/em>, Manganiello has continued to expand his career, including starring in the Magic Mike<\/em> franchise and appearing in 2022\u2019s Moonhaven<\/em>. His most recent venture is hosting the upcoming debut season of Deal or No Deal Island<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The NBC competition show is a twist on the long running game show Deal or No Deal<\/em> and according to Manganiello<\/a>, fans of the original will \u201clove\u201d the spinoff.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe contestants are going to play in a game of Deal or No Deal<\/em> for whatever money they find in the excursion from that day,\u201d he explained to Us<\/em>, noting that 13 contestants will be dropped into a \u201cdepraved banker\u2019s jungle island\u201d where they have to complete a \u201cgauntlet of challenges\u201d all while searching for hidden briefcases with different monetary values.<\/p>\n

As the competition progresses, guests will be voted off until one contestant is left standing to play for the final amount of prize money.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t play one game and you\u2019re done, which also changes how they play those games of Deal or No Deal<\/em> because it\u2019s kind of twofold,\u201d Manganiello said. \u201cThey want to add the biggest amount to the case, but they also have to stay in the game because if they lose, they\u2019re out.\u201d<\/p>\n

He shared that there is \u201cmore strategy\u201d and different layers to the game. \u201cThen there\u2019s also these crazy challenges, which involve complete insanity that has got thrust upon these people,\u201d Manganiello teased.<\/p>\n
