Love Is Blind<\/i><\/a>\u2019s Johnny and Amy are season 6\u2019s golden couple \u2014 but not seeing eye to eye on birth control was the one major hurdle they faced before heading to the altar.<\/p>\n

\u201c[It] was a really big thing that we talked about multiple times,\u201d Johnny, 28, told\u00a0Us Weekly<\/i> exclusively ahead of the season 6 finale. \u201cWe wanted to make sure we\u2019re on the same page. Me really not knowing a lot about birth control, contraceptives, things of that nature made it difficult to really have a good conversation right away because I was uninformed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnny and Amy, 34, were the first couple to get engaged in the pods during season 6, which premiered earlier this month. The twosome remained a united front throughout their romantic time in Mexico, but upon their return to Charlotte, North Carolina, they realized they had disagreements over the use of contraceptives and baby planning.<\/p>\n

While Amy, who has never taken birth control, was open to the idea of getting pregnant soon, Johnny wanted to wait until they were financially stable \u2014 leading to a tense conversation about their future.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSince the premiere of Love Is Blind in 2020, fans have wondered how effective the concept of speed-dating without seeing the other person actually is. Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, who got married on day 40 of the dating experiment, found their happily ever on the show. However, Lauren later admitted that finding The One [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201c[We could get pregnant] literally at any time. Nine months from now we have a little Amy Jr. or John Jr. coming though, that\u2019s something I\u2019m terrified of,\u201d Johnny explained to Amy in episode 8. \u201cI don\u2019t want that, period.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy, meanwhile, argued that while it would be stressful to get pregnant now, they could still \u201ctake care of a child\u201d without issue. She also noted that despite knowing that birth control would be \u201cideal\u201d for her anemia, she has enjoyed how \u201cregular\u201d her system is without it.<\/p>\n

When Amy suggested the possibility of a vasectomy instead, Johnny agreed it could be a possibility. \u201cI know it\u2019s not just the girl\u2019s job,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t want it to seem like I\u2019m saying, \u2018Do this,\u2019 or that this is the only way to do things because it\u2019s not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ultimately, the couple agreed it was something they needed to \u201cresearch and figure out a solution\u201d for before the wedding, as they previously decided to press pause on intimacy until they were on the same page.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile the premise of Netflix\u2019s Love Is Blind is to help singles find their perfect match, the experiment hasn\u2019t come without drama. During season 2 of the dating show, which premiered in February 2022, multiple love triangles blossomed. In one corner, Shayne Jansen connected with both Natalie Lee and Shaina Hurley, and in another, Jarrette [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One thing the pair could agree on was that they would make \u201camazing\u201d parents, but were fearful of it happening \u201ctoo soon.\u201d Johnny told\u00a0Us<\/i>\u00a0that the shortened \u201ctime frame\u201d between meeting in the pods and tying the knot only added pressure to the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything was in the back of my head I think every single day,\u201d he explained. \u201cI think that was probably the biggest two challenges that I personally faced.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whether or not the couple made it down the aisle will be revealed during the season finale on Wednesday, March 6. At the very least, Johnny said the\u00a0\u201copen and honest\u201d conversation brought him and Amy closer together.<\/p>\n
