Amy Grant<\/strong> got candid about the lasting effects of her 2022 bike accident.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still have issues with my short term memory. My balance is still weird,\u201d Grant, 63, told E! News<\/a> on Tuesday, February 20. \u201cI made a joke about it last night. You know, sometimes I walk around like I\u2019m drunk and I just have to laugh about all of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI can\u2019t remember what I can\u2019t remember. I don\u2019t know if I\u2019ll get back on a bike. There\u2019s so many great sports to enjoy and so, you know, I don\u2019t know, who knows.\u201d<\/p>\n

In July 2022, Grant was biking with a friend in Nashville when she hit a pothole. Grant, who was unconscious for 10 minutes, was taken to the hospital and was discharged following one night\u2019s stay.<\/p>\n

After the accident, the \u201cBaby, Baby\u201d singer learned she had a cyst growing in her throat. She explained that the cyst went into \u201chypergrowth\u201d due to the trauma from the bike crash.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had this five hour surgery and they took it out,\u201d she said. \u201cI actually had to learn to sing again.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, she found a small silver lining in the situation. When she came out of the procedure, Grant noted her neck was \u201ca little tighter.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI just felt like an old beat-up car that went in and got a paint job, and had the dents knocked out,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd it was just, I mean, that\u2019s a gift.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grant opened up about the removal of her cyst in March 2023, telling Today<\/em><\/a>\u2019s Craig Melvin<\/strong>, \u201c[I was] working with a vocalist and she said, \u2018What is happening in your throat? Lean your head back.\u2019 And I said, \u2018I know. It\u2019s like I\u2019ve got an Adam\u2019s apple that keeps getting bigger.\u2019 Unbeknownst to me, I\u2019d had a thyroglossal duct cyst.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grant, who\u2019s married to Vince Gill<\/strong>, said that she feels \u201cfantastic\u201d after her injuries.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, really from 2020 on, I feel like I had to, if I were a car, I\u2019ve made a lotta trips to the shop. And I feel like I\u2019m emerging. I went, \u2018Oh man, I feel like a classic now.\u2019 And actually sort of re-revved up in a really beautiful way,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
