Lainey Wilson<\/strong><\/a> is welcoming Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong> <\/a>to the country music world with open arms.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI love it. The more the merrier,\u201d Wilson, 31, told Extra<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Monday, February 19. \u201c[Country music] is about that storytelling, it\u2019s about making people feel at home. And everybody wants to feel at home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9 announced her shift in genres with a commercial that aired during Super Bowl<\/a> LVIII earlier this month, revealing that her eighth studio album, Renaissance: Act II<\/em><\/a>, will drop on March 29. She subsequently released two songs alongside news of the record, \u201cTexas Hold \u2018Em\u201d and \u201c16 Carriages,\u201d both of which had a distinctive twang. The record serves as a follow-up to Renaissance<\/em>, which hit shelves in July 2022, and spawned a worldwide tour and feature concert film.<\/p>\n

While the new sound had most people celebrating, some country music fans have criticized the genre shift \u2014 but that\u2019s something Wilson pays no mind. \u201cEverybody is going to have something to say about everything,\u201d she explained. \u201cI love Beyonc\u00e9.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tReady for round two? Because the second part of Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s Renaissance is on its way. During Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, the music icon dropped a bombshell, announcing her new album, Renaissance Act II, after teasing the new music in a Verizon commercial. The brand\u2019s spot for the big game featured Beyonc\u00e9 attempting to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For Wilson, the country resurgence has only brought good things. Last month, the musician exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> that while the genre has \u201cnever not been cool<\/a>,\u201d there\u2019s been an increased desire to feel \u201cgrounded\u201d and \u201cat home\u201d since the 2020 pandemic, which country does well.<\/p>\n

Wilson added that it\u2019s the storytelling, in particular, that draws people in. \u201cI think we\u2019re getting back to a little bit more of that, just like it was in the \u201990s,\u201d she told Us.<\/em> (Country saw a huge spike in popularity before Y2K, with acts like Faith Hill<\/strong>, Garth Brooks<\/strong> and The Chicks making names for themselves in mainstream pop culture.)<\/p>\n

Wilson has been a vocal proponent of bringing country music center stage, and that message is clear in her own music. Her new single, \u201cCountry\u2019s Cool Again<\/a>,\u201d hit streaming services on Friday, February 16, and serves as \u201can ode\u201d to her \u201cupbringing\u201d and \u201cjourney\u201d in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n

The new song shares its title with the singer\u2019s upcoming Country\u2019s Cool Again tour, which kicks off on Friday, May 31, in Nashville. The tour, which was announced in October 2023, consists of 35-plus performance dates and will feature Zach Top<\/strong>, Jackson Dean<\/strong> and Ian Munsick<\/strong> appearing as Wilson\u2019s opening acts.<\/p>\n

Wilson\u2019s own star has been skyrocketing since the release of her album Bell Bottom Country, which hit shelves in 2022. Earlier this month, she won the award for Best Country Album and Best Country Duo\/Group Performance at the 66th annual Grammys.\u00a0 She also took home Entertainer of the Year<\/a> at the 2023 CMAs, breaking a record by scoring a total of nine nominations, and has made guest appearances on season 5 of Yellowstone<\/em><\/a> as Abby, performing a few of her songs.<\/p>\n
