Anthony Hopkins<\/strong> is an Oscar-winning actor who has a love for music and art.<\/p>\n Though he originally wanted to major in music, Hopkins graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama as an acting student and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.<\/p>\n \u201cI was fairly stupid in school,\u201d the King Lear<\/em> actor told the Desert Sun<\/em> in 2017. \u201cMy school history was poor and I think that breeds in any child a lot of anger and loneliness. So I said, \u2018Screw it. I\u2019ll become an actor and be successful in life.\u2019 But that attitude has stayed with me all my life. I\u2019m happily grateful I\u2019ve survived all these years.\u201d<\/p>\n Hopkins won his first Oscar in 1992 for Best Actor in Silence of the Lambs<\/em> and has starred in many critically acclaimed films, including Pravda<\/em>, Amistad<\/em> and The Two Popes<\/em>.<\/p>\n Hopkins released Composer<\/em> in 2012, an album composed of original works performed by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and had his artwork exhibited at the Desert Art Collection.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you\u2019re a certain age and becoming conscious that you\u2019re inadequate at school \u2013 which I was \u2013 it\u2019s a lonely feeling,\u201d Hopkins told NPR<\/em> in 2012. \u201cAnd I look back on it all now as the greatest gift I could have been given, because it was the rocket fuel that sort of drove me to do something with my life \u2026 And here I am, composing at the age of 74.\u201d<\/p>\n
