Bill Burke<\/strong><\/a> doesn\u2019t think anyone should give up on Fire Country<\/em><\/a>\u2019s Vince and Sharon Leone \u2014 even with their season 2 rough patch.<\/p>\n

Warning: Spoilers below for Fire Country season 2, episode 1.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI think regardless of what happens between Vince and Sharon, I think people will still root for it,\u201d Burke, 57, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> while promoting season 2 of the CBS drama.<\/p>\n

Burke, who plays Battalion Chief Vince Leone, called his character\u2019s relationship with his wife, Sharon (Diane Farr<\/strong><\/a>), an \u201cidealistic relationship<\/a>\u201d that will continue to be explored.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we try to do is make it more relatable to people who are in a similar relationship. Who do have undying responsibility to each other and to those around them,\u201d Burke explained. \u201cSo I think that\u2019s the dynamic that people can invest in.\u201d<\/p>\n

He teased, \u201cIn terms of what will happen, again, don\u2019t know, I just kind of go along for the ride like everybody else does.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the season 2 premiere<\/a>, which aired on Friday, February 16, viewers learned that after Sharon got a clean bill of health following her kidney transplant, she took a sabbatical. That break included time away from Vince and away from their son, Bode (Max Thieriot<\/strong><\/a>), who at the start of the episode was six months into another prison stay.<\/p>\n

When Sharon returned to Edgewater, she seemed cold toward Vince, who had been holding down the fort and visiting Bode solo in her absence. \u201cI haven\u2019t slept in months,\u201d Vince said in the episode, to which Sharon quipped, \u201cI know exactly how you feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFire Country centers around convict Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot) and the members of the Cal Fire team, including their red-hot romances. During season 1, Bode returns to his hometown and joins Cal Fire in exchange for a reduced prison sentence. While there, he steps into a love triangle between his former BFF and firefighter Jake [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Elsewhere in the episode, the couple shared a sweet embrace<\/a> and appeared to be back on the same page about their marriage \u2014 but not on Bode\u2019s situation. (Bode lied about bringing drugs into Three Rock, the convict firefighter camp, during the season 1 finale, which resulted in him going back to jail.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think that Sharon has really changed her mind about anything,\u201d Burke told Us<\/em> earlier this month, noting that he thinks she\u2019s \u201cmourning the loss of time\u201d and all that she \u201cinvested in her son.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burke explained, \u201cThe way that she deals with that and the way that Vince deals with it \u2014 sort of just flipped [the situation] on each other\u2019s head. I think he probably mourns the loss of time and now is trying to throw himself back into it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burke told Us<\/em> that while Sharon was away, Vince chose to do a \u201csoul search\u201d that led to him leaning on the family he had close, which was Bode in prison. He noted that at the same time, Sharon was trying to \u201cfind herself\u201d and come to terms with their current problem.<\/p>\n
