Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> \u201cneeded\u201d to pour her thoughts and feelings into her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cI needed to make it. It was really a lifeline for me,\u201d Swift, 34, said during her Friday, February 16, concert in Melbourne, Australia, per social media<\/a> footage. \u201cIt sort of reminded me of why songwriting is something that actually gets me through life and I\u2019ve never had an album where I\u2019ve needed songwriting more than I needed it on Tortured Poets<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Tortured Poets Department<\/i>, Swift\u2019s 11th studio album, drops on April 19. During her Eras Tour <\/i>concert on Friday, she revealed that there will be a special bonus version of the LP.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to show you something tonight because we\u2019ve got an alternate cover to The Tortured Poets Department <\/i>that nobody has seen and there\u2019s an exclusive song on this vinyl called \u2018The Bolter,\u2019\u201d Swift said, leading up to her surprise song performance of \u201cYou\u2019re Losing Me,\u201d a vault track<\/a> from 2022\u2019s Midnights<\/i>. \u201cThis is called \u2018The Bolter Edition.\u2019 Look at that cover, it\u2019s so tortured [and] so poetic. I wanted to show that to you here in Melbourne because you\u2019ve just been the best that you could possibly be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift revealed her latest musical endeavor while accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album \u2014 her 13th career win \u2014 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The \u201cBolter\u201d version features a sepia-toned photo of Swift lying on a bed while looking off into the distance, once again taken by Beth Garrabrant. The new edition of The Tortured Poets Department <\/i>is currently available for preorder on Swift\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

Swift announced TTPD <\/i>at the 2024 Grammys<\/a> earlier this month when she won Best Pop Vocal Album.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The way I can celebrate] is by telling you a secret that I\u2019ve been keeping from you for the past two years, which is that my brand new album comes out April 19th,\u201d she said in her acceptance speech. \u201cIt\u2019s called The<\/i> Tortured Poets Department<\/i> and I\u2019m going to go post the cover right now backstage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift, who went on to win Album of the Year for the fourth time on February 4, hadn\u2019t always planned to reveal TTPD <\/i>at the Grammys.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had told my friends, I told Jack [Antonoff]<\/strong>, but I hadn\u2019t really told very many other people. I thought, \u2018OK, if I\u2019m lucky enough to win one thing tonight, I\u2019m just gonna do it. I\u2019m just gonna announce my album,\u2019\u201d she said during one of her Eras <\/i>concerts<\/a> in Japan days later. \u201cAnd luckily enough, that ended up happening.\u201d<\/p>\n
