Amy Schumer<\/strong><\/a> had a powerful response to recent critics of her appearance and clapped back at haters who commented that her face has been looking \u201cpuffier.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThank you so much for everyone\u2019s input about my face!\u201d the actress, 42, wrote on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed feedback and deliberation about my appearance<\/a> as all women do for almost 20 years. And you\u2019re right it is puffier than normal right now.\u201d<\/p>\n Amy explained that endometriosis is the reason behind her seemingly changing face. She referred to the illness as \u201can auto-immune disease that every woman should read about\u201d and said that she has \u201csome medical and hormonal things going on.\u201d However, the I Feel Pretty star also assured her fans that she\u2019s OK.<\/p>\n \u201cHistorically women\u2019s bodies have barely been studied medically compared to men,\u201d she continued. \u201cThe book \u201call in her head\u201d does a good job explaining this. I also believe a woman doesn\u2019t need any excuse for her physical appearance and owes no explanation. But I wanted to take the opportunity to advocate for self love and acceptance of the skin you\u2019re in. Like every other women[sic]\/person some days I feel confident and good as hell and others I want to put a bag over my head.\u201d<\/p>\n Critics began commenting on Amy\u2019s face amid her press tour for season 2 of Life and Beth<\/em>, which was released on Hulu on Friday, February 16. She promoted the series on the Tuesday, February, 13, episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel strong and beautiful and so proud of this tv show I created. Wrote. Amy.\u201d<\/p>\n In September 2021, Amy had a hysterectomy and appendectomy to remove her uterus and appendix amid her struggle with endometriosis. \u201cYou tell someone you get really bad cramps and they\u2019re like, \u2018Oh, it\u2019s being a woman,\u2019 and you\u2019re like, \u2018No, it\u2019s irregular.\u2019 I\u2019ve been in so much pain, you know, my whole life,\u201d she shared. \u201cNot just the week of my period. It\u2019s during ovulation. I would hopefully get a good week a month where I wasn\u2019t in pretty significant pain, still trying to achieve, still trying to go through life. It\u2019s been really difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n After her surgeries, Amy said she felt like \u201ca new person,\u201d adding, \u201cI feel like someone lifted this veil that had been over me and I just feel like a different person and a new mom.\u201d She shares a son, Gene, 4, with her husband<\/a> Chris Fischer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
