Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> broke his silence after one person was killed and multiple people were injured at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today<\/a>,\u201d Kelce, 34, posted via X on Wednesday, February 14. \u201cMy heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department confirmed on Wednesday that there was a shooting <\/a>near the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cShots have been fired around Union Station. Please leave the area,\u201d their statement read via X. The department subsequently confirmed that \u201cmultiple people were struck\u201d after shots were fired near a garage close to the event.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHollywood mourned many celebrities in 2024. Speed Racer star Christian Oliver (born Christian Klepser) died at the age of 51 during a fatal plane crash on January 5. Oliver was traveling home from a Caribbean vacation with his two daughters \u2014 Madita and Annik, whom he shared with wife Jessica Klepser \u2014 on January 4. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to the Kansas City Fire Department, one person is dead and more than 20 are injured following the incident. One hospital treating patients has confirmed that nine children<\/a> are being treated for gunshot wounds, but are expected to make a full physical recovery.<\/p>\n

The police noted that two armed assailants were taken into custody as they launched an investigation.<\/a><\/p>\n

We will release everyone inside the building once that is complete,\u201d another statement read. \u201cWe are still trying to determine the number of shooting victims. \u2026 Anyone nearby needs to leave the area as quickly and safely as possible to facilitate treatment of the shooting victims. Please avoid the Union Station parking garage area to allow first responders through.\u201d<\/p>\n

The shooting took place as the Super Bowl<\/a> parade was winding down<\/a>. Earlier that day, the Super Bowl champions followed a two-mile route<\/a> through downtown Kansas City. Kelce and his teammates were celebrating their win<\/a> after the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime on Sunday, February 11.<\/p>\n

Before the event, Kelce opened up about the inspiring speech he shared with his team.<\/p>\n
