Kaia Gerber<\/strong><\/a> knew when she followed in mom Cindy Crawford<\/strong>\u2019s footsteps<\/a> and started modeling she\u2019d have some big shoes to fill. It wasn\u2019t until last year, however, that she really understood how massive those designer stilettos were.<\/p>\n

In an interview with WSJ. Magazine<\/em><\/a>, published Tuesday, Gerber revealed that watching the 2023 Apple TV+ series The Super Models<\/em>, which chronicled the histories of Crawford and fellow \u201csupers\u201d Naomi Campbell<\/strong>, Christy Turlington<\/strong>, and Linda Evangelista<\/strong>, opened her eyes to what a trailblazer her mother was in the industry she\u2019s now a part of herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was starstruck in front of her after,\u201d she said. \u201cI was like, \u2018I didn\u2019t realize. I knew you were iconic, but\u2026.\u2019 I didn\u2019t understand when I was younger.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Gerber has been modeling since she was a child (and has now added acting and book club curation to her resume), she said that she was impressed by her mother\u2019s success \u201ccoming from a very different background than I did.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was so cool that she always had that ambition, and she did things where people told her, \u2018This will ruin your career. Don\u2019t do this,\u2019\u201d Gerber said. \u201cAnd she trusted her instincts.\u201d<\/p>\n

With her supermodel mother and her father, Rande Gerber<\/strong>, who co-founded the Casamigos tequila line with George Clooney<\/strong>, Gerber knows she\u2019s a nepo baby and is thankful for it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s a topic that will go away, so I\u2019ve clearly reached a point of acceptance,\u201d she told the magazine. \u201cI personally am very aware of all the wonderful things it has done for me, and I would never, ever say anything negative about it, because that is my truth about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plus, while parents typically love giving their kids advice on dealing with school, friends, romance, whatever, 22-year-old Gerber is in a position to get expert-level tips from people at the top of her industry\u2014who just so happen to have raised her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can actually ask my parents advice on career things, on business things,\u201d she says. \u201cThat\u2019s very rare, to have parents who are in the same industry or career as you, whose advice you actually can trust.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
