Just under a week ago, word spread that King Charles has cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the world continues to grapple with this diagnosis, the 75-year old monarch issued his first public statement in regard to the illness on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days,\u201d the King said through Buckingham Palace. <\/p>\n

\u201cAs all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.\u201d<\/p>\n
