Ayo Edebiri<\/strong> <\/a>wants the controversy around her past comments about Jennifer Lopez<\/strong><\/a> to serve as a lesson for fellow comedians.<\/p>\n

During the Wednesday, February 6, episode of the \u201cLas Culturistas\u201d podcast<\/a>, Tina Fey<\/strong> offered some advice to cohosts Bowen Yang <\/strong>and Matt Rogers<\/strong> about publicly sharing their critical opinions as they continue to get more famous.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you having a problem with Saltburn? Quiet luxury. Keep it to yourself,\u201d Fey, 53, said in a clip, which Yang reposted on his Instagram. \u201cBecause what are you going to do when [Saltburn director] Emerald Fennell<\/strong> calls you about her next project where you play Carey Mulligan<\/strong>\u2019s coworker in the bridal section of Harrods, and then Act 3 takes a sexually violent turn, and you have to pretend to be surprised by that turn?\u201d<\/p>\n

The Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a> alum added: \u201cLearn from my mistakes, learn from Ayo. Podcasts are forever. Authenticity is dangerous and expensive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Freddie Prinze Jr., for instance, spoke ill [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the comments section, Edebiri, 28, replied, \u201cLEARN FROM ME.\u201d The actress made headlines earlier this month when a clip from her 2020 appearance on Laci Mosley<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cScam Goddess\u201d podcast resurfaced.<\/p>\n

Edebiri made several jokes about Lopez\u2019s career being \u201cone long scam.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, that\u2019s the thing. She thinks she\u2019s on multiple tracks, but it\u2019s not her. I think she thinks that she\u2019s still good even though she\u2019s not singing for most of these songs,\u201d she quipped. \u201cA lot of the write-ups of the songs will be like, \u2018J. Lo didn\u2019t have time to make it to the studio,\u2019 like J. Lo was busy. It\u2019s like, \u2018Doing what?\u2019 Not singing, obviously!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSaturday Night Live\u2019s stage has played host to icons from Harry Styles to Betty White, and many of its celebrity guests have gushed over reaching the impressive career milestone. \u201cI can\u2019t believe I am hosting Saturday Night Live. I\u2019m not sure many of you know that I\u2019m 88 and a half years old,\u201d White, who [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The commentary went viral just one day before Edebiri was set to share the stage with Lopez, 54, on SNL<\/em>. (The appearance marked Edebiri\u2019s hosting debut while Lopez served as the musical guest for that week.)<\/p>\n

Edebiri ultimately addressed the drama in a sketch with SNL<\/em><\/a> cast members Chloe Fineman <\/strong>and Andrew Dismukes<\/strong>. The trio played game show contestants who were asked to explain why they wrote mean messages via Instagram comments.<\/p>\n

Edebiri\u2019s character said she wrote \u201cdie\u201d in the comments of one of Drew Barrymore<\/strong>\u2019s posts, which she then attempted to amend.<\/p>\n

\u201cOK, OK, We get it. It\u2019s wrong to leave mean comments or post comments just for clout \u2014 or run your mouth on a podcast and you don\u2019t consider the impact because you\u2019re 24 and stupid,\u201d Edebiri said. \u201cBut, I think I speak for everyone when I say, from now on, we\u2019re going to be a lot more thoughtful about what we post online.\u201d<\/p>\n
