After getting a taste of the Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> spotlight, Patrick Mahomes<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 mom, Randi Mahomes<\/strong>, isn\u2019t sure she could handle being one of the pop star\u2019s parents.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought Patrick, being my child, was a lot,\u201d Randi, 48, said on Jennifer Vickery Smith<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cGot It From My Momma\u201d<\/a> podcast on Friday, February 9. \u201cNow I\u2019m like, \u2018Whoa, whoa I can only imagine [what her parents, Andrea<\/strong> and Scott Swift<\/strong><\/a>, go through].\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Randi has gained recognition as a parent of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and two-time Super Bowl MVP in recent years, so she was already familiar with the spotlight. However, Patrick, 28, and his wife, Brittany Mahomes<\/strong>, became a part of Taylor\u2019s inner circle during the 2023-2024 football season as the singer began attending Chiefs games to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a>. The friendship thrust Patrick and Brittany, 28, into a new level of public attention. Randi and Patrick\u2019s dad, Patrick Mahomes Sr.<\/strong>, also got a taste when they met Taylor, 34, at football stadiums.<\/p>\n Randi said that in her pre-Taylor era, she was rarely shown on TV at football games, \u201c\u200b\u200bbecause I\u2019m usually on the floor with the grandkids, or pacing because I stress.\u201d However, that changed after she started spending time with the Grammy Award winner.<\/p>\n \u201c[Now] I know people are, like, [watching, so] I just try to smile,\u201d she added. \u201cI don\u2019t [always] have it in me. I\u2019m watching the game and I\u2019m, like, covering my face and all that.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite her aversion to the spotlight, Randi said she loves how warm and inviting Taylor has been to her family, especially Brittany. The two have been spotted together both in the VIP box and outside the stadium, with many nights spent out on the town<\/a> in New York City.<\/p>\n \u201cMy daughter-[in-law] who\u2019s [also] very shy and very quiet and very, you know, doesn\u2019t like attention or anything [either, but Taylor] really made sure that she feels good,\u201d Randi said.<\/p>\n Patrick\u2019s mom also gushed about Taylor\u2019s attitude toward fame and attention in general.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s like, fun, having a good time, and I love to see that,\u201d she said. \u201cShe takes a picture with everybody, like, if she\u2019s going to the bathroom\u2026she\u2019s gonna stop for all the little girls, all the kids and I\u2019m like, \u2018You go, girl!\u2019 She may not feel like she\u2019s going out of her way, but she makes a point, and I\u2019m like, \u2018OK, you\u2019ve really got a fan now!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor went public with Travis, 34, in September 2023 by attending her first Chiefs game, and she\u2019s been a mainstay in stadiums ever since. Randi and Patrick\u2019s little sister, Mia Randall, got to hang out with the pop star at an October 2023 home game, and they had a blast.<\/p>\n \u201cI love how sweet Taylor was to my girl<\/a>!!\u201d Randi posted later that night, sharing a photo of Taylor and Mia, 12.<\/p>\n
