Kaskade<\/strong> announced that he will be performing at Super Bowl LVIII after Ti\u00ebsto dropped out due to a family emergency.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a kid who grew up in Chicago watching the @NFL Super Bowl every year with my family this chance to actually be part of it is absolutely mind blowing,\u201d the DJ announced via X<\/a> on Thursday. \u201cLas Vegas has been my second home for the past decade, as an architect of creating a landscape that includes House and Dance Music residencies as part of its destination. To be able to be the first Electronic Musician to be part of the full game experience of the Super Bowl held in Las Vegas seems like coming home, and I\u2019m beyond excited to represent my community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ti\u00ebsto<\/strong><\/a> will no longer perform at Super Bowl LVIII<\/a>, citing a family emergency.<\/p>\n

The Dutch DJ, 55, announced the news on Thursday, February 8, via X<\/a>. He had been scheduled to perform before the game in Las Vegas and during breaks in the action on Sunday, February 11, with portions of his set to air on CBS\u2019 main broadcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cMe and my team have been preparing something truly special for months, but a personal family emergency is forcing me to return home Sunday morning,\u201d Ti\u00ebsto wrote on Thursday. \u201cIt was a tough decision to miss the game, but family always comes first. Thank you to the @NFL for the collaboration and looking forward to working with them to deliver something incredible together in the future !\u201d<\/p>\n

Ti\u00ebsto also has shows slated for Thursday and Friday, February 9, in Brooklyn, but it is not yet known whether those performances will proceed as scheduled.<\/p>\n

The NFL began booking pregame DJs for the Super Bowl in 2019 when DJ Khaled<\/strong> performed in Miami. D-Nice<\/strong>, Zedd<\/strong> and DJ Snake<\/strong> have also earned the gig.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Variety earlier this week<\/a>, Ti\u00ebsto expressed his excitement about the performance. \u201cTwo hundred million people watching? Yeah, that\u2019s a bit of pressure,\u201d he said. \u201cBut I\u2019m more excited than anything else. A lot of people who have never heard of Ti\u00ebsto will know about me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Dutch artist has long been a staple of Las Vegas entertainment, earning the key to the city in 2017 and landing multiple residencies at venues around the city.<\/p>\n
