Southern Hospitality<\/em><\/a>\u2019s Emmy Sharrett<\/strong><\/a> denies going behind Maddi Reese<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s back to get her job promotion at Republic Garden & Lounge.<\/p>\n

\u201cI definitely feel a little betrayed by her,\u201d Maddi, 26, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> ahead of season 2 of Southern Hospitality<\/em>, noting that when she saw the trailer for the show she realized Emmy, 25, might be coming for her job.<\/p>\n

Emmy, however, exclusively told Us<\/em><\/a> that she wasn\u2019t looking to hurt Maddi when she told their boss, Leva Bonaparte<\/strong>, she was working to become a bigger part in the Charleston club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t betrayal. It was gradually over time, Maddi stopped doing the responsibility of her job,\u201d Emmy explained, claiming, \u201cI genuinely did not think that I was going to be a leader in any capacity. And the next thing I know, all these girls were looking to me to get stuff done. I just over time became that leader.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emmy recalled the transition taking place over summer 2023<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Why am I doing all this work if I don\u2019t have this title?\u2019\u201d she confessed. \u201cPeople were just like, \u2018You\u2019d be phenomenal as a VIP manager.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018You know what, we don\u2019t even really have one right now, so why not try and be one?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Emmy alleged that \u201cMaddi\u2019s priorities were less and less about Republic\u201d as she worked on her DJ career. \u201cYou cannot be managing a company while DJing all over while you\u2019re trying to grow that career. It\u2019s just not possible. So with that expanding, I could just see it being an easy way for her to let VIP manager go and pursue that,\u201d Emmy told Us<\/em>. \u201cBut I think a big part of it was her ego got in the way<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emmy\u2019s boyfriend, Will Kulp<\/strong><\/a>, also pointed the blame at Maddi for Emmy swooping in at Republic. \u201cI also think that the only person Maddi should feel betrayed by is herself because she\u2019s the one who dropped the ball,\u201d Will, 26, said. \u201cIt\u2019s very typical of Maddi to start pointing fingers instead of looking in the mirror.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emmy quipped, \u201cI mean, she kind of handed it to me, but did know that I was going to take it.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the Thursday, February 8, episode of the Bravo series, viewers learned that Emmy was given the title of assistant general manager (AGM), which means she oversees both Maddi and Joe Bradley<\/strong><\/a>, who are VIP managers.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tA job-altering scandal. Although drama makes for good reality TV, many stars have crossed a line and their actions have real consequences. In June 2020, following the murder of George Floyd while in police custody, global protests began and thousands marched in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. With that, many networks began looking [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The promotion was even more than Emmy had asked boss Leva, 44, for at the beginning of the season \u2014 and it rubbed Maddi and Joe, 27, the wrong way<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cL-O f\u2013king L,\u201d Maddi said on the episode after Leva announced Emmy\u2019s new role. \u201cThere\u2019s no way Emmy f\u2013king deserves it. She has no idea what an assistant general does. I will always be the bitch that runs the bitch, I don\u2019t care what her title is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe was taken back by Emmy\u2019s jump, telling her, \u201cI\u2019m happy for you, but you\u2019re not my boss.\u201d As the night progressed, Joe got even more upset by the news. He vented to Maddi, saying, \u201cI just don\u2019t like how she pranced in with her yellow dress on like, \u2018I\u2019m your boss now.\u2019 Yeah f\u2013king right. You\u2019re not my f\u2013king boss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe quipped, \u201cI\u2019d rather be a DJ and Joey Bottles than an assistant to the general manager.\u201d Maddi fired back, \u201cYeah, no, it\u2019s laughable,\u201d to which Joe replied, \u201cF\u2013k that. That\u2019s hilarious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Emmy has been in charge for months now, Joe exclusively told Us<\/em> in January that he thinks she could have handled the transition better.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmmy just [went] about it the wrong way and it [brushed] me and Maddi off the wrong way because me and Maddi are the ones that got her the job,\u201d Joe confessed. \u201cWhat Maddi always says is, \u2018Don\u2019t bite the hand that feeds you.\u2019 So, you can get promoted, but do it in the right way where you\u2019re not pissing people off.\u201d<\/p>\n
