CBS Sports\u2019 lead football analyst Tony Romo<\/strong> revealed he\u2019s hoping Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> and Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> tie the knot after he slipped up and referred to the \u201cKarma\u201d singer as the Kansas City Chiefs star\u2019s \u201cwife\u201d<\/a> while calling several games during the season.<\/p>\n \u201cI root for them to get married,\u201d Tony, 43, told reporters at a press day on Tuesday, February 6, ahead of Super Bowl LVIII. He added, \u201c\u2018Cause they\u2019re not married, guys, I was joking.\u201d<\/p>\n The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback first made the slip up during the Chiefs\u2019 game against the Buffalo Bills on December 10, 2023.<\/p>\n When Taylor, 34, went wild in her suite at Arrowhead Stadium following Travis, 34, making an impressive play on the field, Tony told viewers, \u201cAs you see, Kelce\u2019s wife, Taylor Swift, in the audience.\u201d He quickly corrected himself, laughing, \u201cI\u2019m sorry, girlfriend.\u201d His cohost, Jim Nantz, jumped in to add, \u201cNot yet!\u201d in response to the \u201cwife\u201d blunder.<\/p>\n Fans flooded X to roast Tony over his mistake. \u201cThe way it just slipped out so easy,\u201d one person wrote, while another commented, \u201cWhoaaa, slow down Tony Romo. Don\u2019t get them married off just yet.\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor revealed the couple began dating<\/a> after Travis said he tried and failed to slip her his phone number<\/a> via a friendship bracelet during her Kansas City Eras tour stop. He told the story during the July 26, 2023, episode of his \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast, and the \u201cCruel Summer\u201d singer thought it was \u201cmetal as hell<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n The former NFL star made the same slip-up during the Chiefs\u2019 Christmas Day 2023 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. After Taylor was shown in a cutaway cheering on Travis making a huge reception, Tony said, \u201cAnd his wife loves it, I mean, girlfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n The sportscaster gushed during CBS Sports\u2019 media day about why he\u2019s such a fan of Taylor and Travis.<\/p>\n \u201cIt shows you Taylor\u2019s impact just on human beings and society, just that anything she says resonates,\u201d he said. \u201cI just sit there and, you know, think about her gift and her ability to create<\/a> and make something that so many people love, and I think it\u2019s just really unique to find or be around anybody on Earth who has the ability to have a talent at that level. And so, Travis has the same thing as a tight end, and you know, I root for them. I like them both and I think they\u2019re both amazing people.\u201d<\/p>\n Tony also praised how down to Earth both Taylor and Travis are. \u201cIf you\u2019re around either one of them, you see their humble heart and the way they treat people,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re just going through a relationship,\u201d he added. \u201cTo me, it\u2019s one of those things where, in a lot of ways they wish it would be, I bet, as out there, but it\u2019s just, they\u2019re both great at what they do \u2013 it\u2019s gonna be out there.
