Two days after Donald Trump<\/strong> warned that \u201cthere\u2019ll probably be some changes made\u201d at the Republican National Committee, chief of staff Mike Reed<\/strong> told staff that he will be leaving the organization by the end of the month, according to Politico<\/a>. In his message, Reed acknowledged \u201cthe timing of this news comes as many rumors in the press swirl and we prepare to merge with the presumptive nominee,\u201d but he insisted that \u201cthe RNC is in an incredibly strong position\u201d and his departure stems from a desire to focus on his \u201cgrowing family [that] needs and deserves my attention.\u201d<\/p>\n Nevertheless, it literally came just 48 hours after Trump said<\/a> in an interview, of RNC chair Ronna McDaniel:<\/strong> \u201cI think she did great when she ran Michigan for me. I think she did okay, initially, in the RNC. I would say right now, there\u2019ll probably be some changes made.\u201d Later, in a post on Truth Social that followed a meeting with McDaniel, he wrote<\/a>: \u201cRonna is now Head of the RNC, and I\u2019ll be making a decision the day after the South Carolina Primary as to my recommendations for RNC Growth,\u201d Trump wrote.<\/p>\n As CNN notes<\/a>, Trump does not have the power to officially remove McDaniel, but he obviously wields a ridiculous amount of influence over the Republican Party. According to the outlet, rather than using his power to get her canned or force her to resign, \u201csources close to the former president and the RNC say\u2026Trump and his campaign will revive a more traditional move: installing a core Trump ally as deputy chairman to serve\u00a0alongside McDaniel.\u201d Chris LaCivita,<\/strong> a senior adviser to the ex-president, has reportedly been discussed as someone who would serve as an \u201cinternal ally\u201d at the RNC.<\/p>\n According to Politico, one of Trump\u2019s recent gripes with the committee was \u201cits decision to host primary debates,\u201d because he apparently thinks the group should just dispense with such things and name him Emperor for Life.
