Jelly Roll<\/a> is headed to\u00a0to <\/span>American Idol<\/em><\/a>!<\/span><\/p>\n

The GRAMMY nominee will be joining the singing competition’s upcoming 22nd season as a guest mentor and performer to hopeful contestants.<\/span><\/p>\n

He’ll be joining\u00a0<\/span>Tori Kelly<\/a>, who will also be mentoring and performing on the season — returning to the show where she got her start.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kelly made it to Hollywood Week in season 9, when she was just 18 years old. Following her elimination, she self-released her debut EP, <\/span>Handmade Songs<\/span><\/em>, in 2012, kicking off her rise to stardom.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both Jelly and Kelly’s episodes will tape at Aulani: A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i, showcasing\u00a0<\/span>Idol<\/span><\/em>\u00a0hopefuls as they perform\u00a0on the beach\u00a0in front of judges <\/span>Luke Bryan<\/a>, <\/span>Katy Perry<\/a>, <\/span>Lionel Richie<\/a> and host <\/span>Ryan Seacrest<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

ET spoke with the\u00a0Idol<\/em>\u00a0judges<\/a> last fall as they auditioned singers for the upcoming season — which marks their seventh together as a group.<\/span><\/p>\n

“You can’t separate us,” Perry insisted. “You can’t break this fam down!”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Don’t even try it!” Richie agreed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group shared that they learn more about each other every season, with this season in particular being revelatory as they traveled to each of their hometowns — Santa\u00a0Barbara,\u00a0California; Tuskegee, Alabama; and\u00a0Leesburg, Georgia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Oh, you have no idea,” Richie promised, while Bryan recalled, “It was like being on a field trip.”<\/span><\/p>\n

American Idol <\/span><\/em>season 22 premieres Sunday Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. PT\/ET on ABC.<\/span><\/p>\n
