Four months after filing for divorce, Bijou Phillips<\/strong><\/a> is also calling it quits with the Church of Scientology, an insider exclusively tells Life & Style<\/em>. In September, the 43-year-old\u2019s husband of 12 years, Danny Masterson<\/strong><\/a>, was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for raping two women. Not long after, Bijou cited \u201cirreconcilable differences\u201d in court papers and asked for full custody of their 9-year-old daughter. Now, according to reports, the controversial religion has declared the That \u201970s Show<\/em><\/a> alum a \u201csuppressive person\u201d<\/a> \u2014 effectively shunning him \u2014 and Bijou wants out.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s not looking to antagonize anyone within the church, she\u2019s just putting herself first,\u201dsays the insider, adding, \u201cFor so many years, she\u2019s been in Danny\u2019s shadow, dutifully following him and pledging her unwavering loyalty to Scientology.\u201d But Danny\u2019s future is still tied up with the religion.\u00a0In September 2025, the 47-year-old and the church will face a civil suit brought by three victims who claim they were viciously harassed by the organization for reporting the actor\u2019s crimes to the police.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s hoping he\u2019ll be reprieved or at least supported by his old Scientology bosses,\u201d says the insider. \u201cIt\u2019s in both his and their interests to stick together for the trial.\u201d It\u2019s unlikely Bijou, who stood by Danny during his criminal trial, will repeat the performance. \u201cTo be clear, Bijou is not attacking the church and she\u2019s not trying to excuse any of this terrible behavior,\u201d says the insider. \u201cShe just wants to move forward with her daughter in a brand-new life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
