Alyssa Milano<\/strong><\/a> is speaking out about Holly Marie Combs<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 claim she got Shannen Doherty<\/strong><\/a> fired from Charmed<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I should address the elephant in the room,\u201d Milano, 51, said during a Friday, February 2, Charmed panel at Megacon Orlando<\/a>. \u201cYou\u2019re all Charmed<\/em> fans, I knew this was going to come up in one way or another. I want to be very thoughtful in how I respond to any of this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Milano was referring to Doherty, 52, and Combs\u2019 December 2023 \u201cLet\u2019s Be Clear\u201d podcast episode, where the pair spoke candidly about the drama behind the scenes<\/a> of the WB series and claimed that Milano was behind Doherty getting fired<\/a> from the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will just say that I\u2019m sad. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s really that I\u2019m sad for me or for my life or how it does or does not affect my life. I\u2019m the most sad for the fans,\u201d she shared. \u201cI am the most sad that a show that has meant so much to so many people has been tarnished by a toxicity that is still to this day almost a quarter of a century later still happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charmed, which premiered on The WB in 1998, made headlines from the start as Aaron Spelling hired Shannen Doherty to play one of the three Halliwell sisters, four years after she was infamously let go from Spelling Television\u2019s Beverly Hills, 90210. \u201c[Aaron] [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The actress admitted she was also upset that others \u201ccan\u2019t move past\u201d the drama and take in what they accomplished in eight seasons. While Milano understands that Doherty and Combs, 50, are still coping with their feelings, she explained that she also had to work on processing her own emotions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I think back to that time it was hard for me, and I have worked super hard in my life in the last 25 years to heal all of my trauma,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s not just all the trauma that I experienced while shooting but all of my trauma. I\u2019ve worked really hard to heal the bits because I understand that hurt people hurt people and my intention is to be a healed person that helps heal people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Milano shared that she wishes she and her costars could get on stage to do a panel together for their fans but doesn\u2019t know what else she can do to fix the trio\u2019s broken bond.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019ve been very upfront and taken accountability for and apologized for whatever part I played in the situation,\u201d she confessed. \u201cI have been very forthcoming about that. I don\u2019t know how else to fix it.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the drama is \u201cheartbreaking and hard\u201d for Milano, she is more upset for the fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the uncomfortable part that I wish was different,\u201d she concluded. \u201cSo apologies to all of you who love us anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Milano starred as Phoebe Halliwell on all eight seasons of the supernatural series, which ran from 1996 to 2008. Combs and Doherty portrayed her sisters Piper and Prue, respectively. During the season 3 finale, Doherty\u2019s character was abruptly killed off and replaced by Rose McGowen<\/strong>\u2019s Paige in season 4. At the time, Spelling Television claimed Doherty left the show to pursue other projects. While Doherty didn\u2019t provide a clear reason at the time, she hinted that there was \u201cdrama\u201d on set.<\/p>\n

In December 2023,Combs and Doherty made headlines after Combs claimed that Milano was responsible for Doherty\u2019s exit.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t mean to [fire Shannen], but we\u2019ve been backed into this corner,\u201d she recalled producer Jonathan Levin<\/strong> telling her. \u201c\u2018We\u2019re basically in this position where it\u2019s one or the other. We were told [by Alyssa] it\u2019s her or [Shannen] and Alyssa has threatened to sue us for a hostile workplace environment.\u201d<\/p>\n
