Making amends off the air. Zach Shallcross<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and Rachel Recchia<\/strong><\/a> are on good terms, according to the Bachelor.<\/p>\n \u201cShe actually reached out and she sent a very sweet message,\u201d the ABC star, 26, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> at the recent Women Tell All<\/em> taping in Los Angeles. \u201cAnd she\u2019s very supportive. It was a very nice message. I\u2019m very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n Zach and Rachel, also 26, ended season 19 of The Bachelorette<\/em> on rocky terms after he claimed she acted differently in the fantasy suites without the cameras rolling.<\/a> While they seemingly buried the hatchet during After the Final Rose<\/em>, Zach threw shade at Rachel during the season 26 premiere,<\/a> claiming the pilot didn\u2019t provide the \u201chonesty and clarity\u201d he needed during their romance.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was a lot of question marks and a lot of guessing,\u201d Zach explained on Us<\/em>\u2019 \u201cHere for the Right Reasons\u201d podcast<\/a> about the remark. \u201cAnd when it came down to last season with Rachel, a lot of stuff came to fruition and a lot of big question marks and surprises and that leads to shock. And for me, one thing that I pride myself on is the fact of having communication throughout [my time as the Bachelor]. So I even told all the women on night one, like, good or bad, please tell me how you\u2019re feeling. Because I will. I know what I want out of this and I know what it takes to have that healthy relationship \u2026 communication. And that lacked with Rachel and I last season.\u201d<\/p>\n The flight instructor, for his part, said she was \u201cactually shocked\u201d by the diss and by the comments he made on the \u201cAlmost Famous\u201d podcast about Rachel treating him \u201clike a stranger\u201d and asking him \u201cinterview questions\u201d in the fantasy suites.<\/p>\n \u201cAll this talk about, \u2018I want someone who\u2019s authentic on and off camera,\u2019 as if me choosing or feeling stronger feelings for other people somehow made me not authentic or if us not aligning on certain important views, makes him wrong. It\u2019s just really honestly shocking to hear him still kind of paint me in this, like, really negative light where I thought at our After the Final Rose<\/em>, we kind of did make up,\u201d Rachel said earlier this month.<\/p>\n She further denied being fake off camera, noting that she just had a stronger connection with Tino Franco<\/strong><\/a>. (Rachel and Tino split while the show was airing after he admitted to kissing another girl.)<\/p>\n \u201cPeople watched me, time after time, send people home on the spot when I knew it wasn\u2019t right,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd I genuinely cared about Zach so much that I wanted to give him this time. And I wanted to see if we can align. And when you get behind closed doors, you\u2019re like, \u2018OK, let\u2019s honestly have a conversation.\u2019 \u2026 Even after an apology, it\u2019s still being painted like this, it just really is so hurtful.\u201d<\/p>\n While Zach referenced their past again on the February 20 episode, Rachel took to Twitter to defend him.<\/a> \u201cLet\u2019s all be mindful and extend a little bit of compassion and grace towards the leads of the show,\u201d she tweeted on Tuesday, February 21.<\/p>\n The Bachelor<\/em> airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
