Selena Gomez<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has revealed the heartbreaking reason she didn\u2019t stay in close touch with her\u00a0Wizards of Waverly Place<\/em><\/a> costars after the Disney Channel show wrapped in 2012, sharing that she was unhappy with some of her life choices at the time.<\/p>\n \u201cI felt ashamed of the decisions that I made,\u201d Selena, 30, told\u00a0Jennifer Stone<\/strong>, who played her best friend, Harper, and David DeLuise<\/strong>, who portrayed her TV dad, Jerry, during the Monday, February 27, episode of the \u201cWizards of Waverly<\/a> Pod<\/a>\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t want you guys to see me in the state that I was in<\/a>, because A, you would have told me the truth, which terrifies me, and B, I didn\u2019t want to let you down,\u201d the \u201cBack to You\u201d singer continued.<\/p>\n David was so touched, telling Selena, \u201cThat\u2019s really sweet, and thank you for saying that,\u201d adding, \u201cObviously I miss you.\u201d<\/p>\n Jennifer was relieved to finally know the reason Selena didn\u2019t stay in contact. \u201cI appreciate you saying that too, because to be perfectly blunt, there has been times where I\u2019m like, \u2018Did we stop being friends because I didn\u2019t tell her what she wanted to hear?’\u201d she told the\u00a0Only Murders in the Building<\/em><\/a>\u00a0star. \u201cYou know what I mean? So, I appreciate you being that honest.\u201d<\/p>\n Selena told Jennifer and David how much they meant to her after so many years without talking. \u201cI appreciate you guys dearly. I love you so much in a way that I\u2019ve never loved anybody else,\u201d she confessed.<\/p>\n The \u201cWolves\u201d songstress was 15 years old when she started on Wizards of Waverly Place<\/em> in 2007, playing Alex Russo. By the time the series ended, she was in a high profile relationship<\/a> with singer Justin Bieber<\/strong><\/a> that would continue to be on and off for years. She later became a vocal advocate for mental health after revealing she suffered from anxiety, panic attacks and depression<\/a> and later was diagnosed with bipolar disorder<\/a>.<\/p>\n When asked what advice she would have given her younger self in 2007, Selena responded,\u00a0\u201cI wish that I had maybe known how hard it was going to get,\u201d adding, \u201cBut to know that I\u2019d get on the other side of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
