Halle Bailey<\/a> and boyfriend DDG got a chance to enjoy a date night on Thursday, as they walked the carpet at this year’s\u00a0<\/span>Recording Academy Honors presented by the Black Music Collective<\/a>, marking their first public outing since <\/span>announcing that they had welcomed their first child together<\/a> earlier this month.<\/span><\/p>\n The<\/span> Little Mermaid<\/span><\/em> star and the\u00a0<\/span>It’s Not Me It’s You\u00a0<\/span><\/em>artist spoke with ET’s Denny Directo at the star-studded gala, and the pair opened up about what parenthood has been like with their son, Halo.<\/span><\/p>\n “It’s wonderful,” Bailey marveled. “I love our baby so much. We’re so happy.”<\/span><\/p>\n “It’s amazing,” DDG chimed in with a smile.<\/span><\/p>\n Bailey and her boyfriend\u00a0<\/span>announced the arrival of their son, Halo<\/a>, on Jan. 6. The actress kept the news of her pregnancy under wraps, even covering her bump in a ruffled dress during the premiere of\u00a0<\/span>The Color Purple<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n “Even though we\u2019re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” Bailey wrote on\u00a0<\/span>Instagram<\/a>, sharing a photo of the newborn’s hand wearing a gold nameplate bracelet. “Welcome to the world my halo \ud83e\udd70\ud83d\udc7c\ud83c\udffd \u2728the world is desperate to know you \ud83d\ude09\ud83e\udd23\u2665\ufe0f”<\/span><\/p>\n On his page, DDG\u00a0<\/span>shared the same image<\/a>\u00a0with the caption, “my biggest blessing by far \ud83d\udc76\ud83c\udffd\u2764\ufe0f son son.. never been so in love. baby halo.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking with ET at Thursday’s Recording Academy event —\u00a0\u00a0where Mariah Carey and Lenny Kravitz\u00a0each received the Recording Academy Global Impact Award — Bailey also reflected on earning her first solo GRAMMY nomination, sharing, “It means so much!”<\/span><\/p>\n “This recognition means so much, we’re just happy to be here,” shared Bailey, who is nominated for Best R&B Song for her single\u00a0“Angel.”<\/span><\/p>\n “I’m just excited and I’m gonna try to celebrate.
