From costars to family! Chase Stokes<\/strong><\/a>, Madelyn Cline<\/strong><\/a>, Madison Bailey<\/strong><\/a>, Rudy Pankow<\/strong><\/a> and Jonathan Daviss<\/strong><\/a> play best friends on Outer Banks<\/em><\/a>, which has translated into strong real-life bonds<\/a> between the actors.<\/p>\n The Netflix series premiered in April 2020, and fans instantly became obsessed with the Pogues\u2019 hunt for treasure<\/a>. When the cast returned to the set to shoot season 2, which was released in July 2021,\u00a0they had grown\u00a0even closer\u00a0than before<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was very tight-knit, so the filming of the first season felt very intimate in the best way possible,\u201d Cline told Grazia Gazette: The Hamptons<\/em> in the summer 2021 issue. \u201cWe really vibe with our crew and our cast, obviously. We immediately had chemistry<\/a>, and we immediately started hanging out, which is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n The actress and her costars rose to fame together, leaning on each other throughout the process. \u201cWe all kind of started in the same place when we got the show, and we just stuck together,\u201d she recalled. \u201cWe\u2019re all going through the same thing and it just helps to have people around you who understand and who are there for you. We keep each other grounded and we hype each other up. We\u2019re all each other\u2019s best hype man.\u201d<\/p>\n The group opened up about their relationships with each other in a July 2021 YouTube video with Glamour<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAs time has progressed and as we\u2019ve been on this journey together\u00a0\u2026\u00a0it continues to get more and more in-depth with the entirety of it,\u201d Stokes explained. \u201cIt\u2019s become less of a friendship and more of a family, and I think that\u2019s just what makes this show so special.\u201d<\/p>\n Bailey, for her part, gave some insight into what the cast talks about when the cameras are not rolling. \u201cOur group chat is making plans, sending stupid TikToks, sending fan art. We\u2019ll send some fan posts,\u201d she exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in July 2021. \u201cIf it\u2019s really cool or something, we\u2019ll send it to each other so that everyone sees it. That, and then just goofing off.\u201d<\/p>\n Stokes and Cline, meanwhile, started off as friends before things between them turned romantic<\/a>. The couple confirmed in June 2020 that they are dating<\/a>. However, they keep things professional on the set.<\/p>\n \u201cI think there\u2019s always this element of [asking], \u2018How can we make it not about Maddie and Chase? How do we make it about Sarah Cameron and John B?\u2019\u201d the actor told Us<\/em> in February 2021. \u201cSo that\u2019s been fun to sort of find the ebbs and flows of the characters and give it that birth, versus it being everybody looking at us for who we are as a couple outside of work. We\u2019ve put in a lot of work.\u201d<\/p>\n
