Brian Austin Green<\/strong><\/a> is reflecting on the difficulty of losing his Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em><\/a> costar Luke Perry<\/strong><\/a> so suddenly.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was a part of me that couldn\u2019t really process that that was real,\u201d Green, 50, said in a Wednesday, January 31, clip of an upcoming episode of Getting Grilled With Curtis Stone<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI texted him the day after he passed. Just because there was a part of me that was like, \u2018No, he\u2019s gonna answer back. He\u2019s hiding somewhere. Or something\u2019s happened.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Green, who starred alongside Perry on 90210<\/em> from 1990 to 2000, noted that while he didn\u2019t \u201ccompletely believe\u201d he\u2019d hear back from his friend \u201ca big part\u201d of him was hoping \u201cthat was the case.\u201d<\/p>\n Perry suffered from a massive stroke<\/a> in February 2019 while at his home in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of Los Angeles. He was rushed to a nearby hospital via ambulance, where he remained until his death<\/a> on March 4. He was 52 years old.<\/p>\n While Green admitted that he\u2019s begun to accept the idea of death with age, he never thought he\u2019d lose someone so early \u2014 especially Perry. \u201cI honestly never expected that it would be Luke,\u201d he said. \u201cTo me, in my mind, Luke was the strongest of everyone. He was the constant guy, he was exactly who he was at all times.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the loss, Green clarified that Perry is still a \u201cbig part\u201d of his life and the relationship he had with the actor is something he thinks about \u201calmost on a daily basis.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhen things happen in my life,\u201d he said, \u201cI\u2019ll stop for a second and I\u2019ll think about him and what I learned from him and what I think his opinion would be of what it is I do.\u201d<\/p>\n Green cited the personal \u201cconnections\u201d Perry had with the people around him as the \u201clegacy\u201d he left as opposed to his professional accolades. \u201cIt\u2019s the lasting imprint that you left on your friends, on your family, on your children,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt\u2019s the stories that people share about you afterward that to me.\u201d<\/p>\n It was after Perry\u2019s death, Green noted, that he began to hear stories about his friend\u2019s benevolence as Perry was known to be a private person.<\/p>\n \u201cHe did a lot of things and didn\u2019t ever talk about them. He would buy a new wheelchair for the guy on the block who needed one, or get on a plane and fly to a hospital where a girl was sick,\u201d he shared, citing a few altruistic examples throughout Perry\u2019s life. \u201cWhenever he flew on a plane, he would have a pocket full of balloons so when he heard a baby crying, he could walk back to where they were, blow up a balloon and give them something that would take their mind off of it a little bit. And he never shared that with anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cAs shocked as I was to hear those, I was like, that\u2019s absolutely Luke.
