This week, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/go.redirectingat.com?id=66960X1514734&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hulu.com%2Fsubscriber_agreement%23%3A%7E%3Atext%3Daccess%2520the%2520Content.-%2Cm.%2520Account%2520Sharing%2C-.Unless%2520otherwise&amp;referrer=theverge.com&amp;sref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theverge.com%2F2024%2F1%2F31%2F24057641%2Fhulu-password-sharing-crackdown\" rel=\"sponsored nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">revised its Terms of Service<\/a> to explicitly ban password sharing outside of \u201cyour primary personal residence,\u201d and it\u2019s begun to tell subscribers they\u2019ll need to comply by March 14th, 2024. <\/p>\n<p id=\"NIj1ak\">This doesn\u2019t come as much of a surprise: the writing\u2019s been on the wall ever since Netflix reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/7\/19\/23798933\/netflix-earnings-july-2023-streaming-password-sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">that its password sharing crackdown was successful in driving more signups<\/a>, after Disney CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/8\/9\/23826310\/disney-plus-password-sharing-earnings-q3-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bob Iger revealed he\u2019d like to follow suit<\/a>, and certainly after Disney Plus began <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/9\/27\/23893231\/disney-plus-password-sharing-ban-canada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">its own password sharing crackdown<\/a> in earnest.
