After five Cheers<\/em> cast members appeared on stage together earlier this month at the Emmy Awards, Ted Danson<\/strong><\/a> is teasing another potential reunion.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell you know it\u2019s interesting \u2026 I\u2019ve seen them recently, everybody, pretty much everybody,\u201d the 76-year-old actor told Entertainment Tonight<\/em> <\/a>in an interview published Tuesday, January 30, suggesting that his former costars may get together again.<\/p>\n

Danson, who portrayed bar owner Sam Malone on the famed sitcom, joined fellow Cheers<\/em> alums Rhea Perlman<\/strong>, Kelsey Grammer,<\/strong> John Ratzenberger<\/strong> and George Wendt<\/strong> on stage at the Emmys on January 15, recalling that it \u201cwas really fun\u201d to team up with his old colleagues.<\/p>\n

They appeared at a recreation of the Bull & Finch Pub, which served as the exterior of the Cheers bar \u201cwhere everybody knows your name.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for getting us all here. Ah, this feels so nice to be here in front of all of you, thank you,\u201d Danson said to host Anthony Anderson<\/strong> at the awards show. Ratzenberger, who starred as mailman Cliff Clavin, added, \u201cThink of it as a long-overdue class reunion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among the series stars who did not appear at the Emmys was Shelly Long<\/strong>, who portrayed Malone\u2019s on-off girlfriend Diane Chambers. Woody Harrelson,<\/strong> who starred as bartender Woody Boyd, also missed the reunion.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry Shelly [wasn\u2019t there] and Woody was off doing a play in London \u2014 which I saw and he was amazing,\u201d Danson told ET.<\/em> \u201cBut it was lovely.\u201d<\/p>\n

While it was a joyous occasion, Danson shot down the hope that the costars were planning to work together again in an official capacity, noting that it would be difficult for a \u201cbunch of older folks\u201d to agree on a project.<\/p>\n

Cheers<\/em> ran for 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993 on NBC. It is considered one of the greatest TV series in history, earning 28 Emmy Awards throughout its run.<\/p>\n

The show also produced two spinoffs: The Tortellis<\/em> and Frasier.<\/em> Grammer, 68, returned for the Frasier<\/em> reboot, which premiered in October 2023 on Paramount+.<\/p>\n

Danson is now busy with the 12th and final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/a>.<\/em> He has starred in the series as a fictionalized version of himself since the first season in 2000.<\/p>\n

Larry David<\/strong> created the series and also portrays a fictionalized version of himself. Danson told ET<\/em> that, in reality, David, 76, \u201chas a heart of gold\u201d and is \u201cvery loyal.\u201d He also joked that \u201cthere\u2019s some real similarities\u201d between \u201cTV Larry\u201d and the one in real-life.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis social manner is, you know, if there is a social IQ, [he\u2019s] really low on the scale. Just like his character,\u201d Danson said. \u201cBut no, look at all the friends of his that he\u2019s put in the show, and friends that he\u2019s known for years, and they\u2019re here with him. He\u2019s very loyal.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to Danson, the returning cast also includes Jeff Garlin<\/strong>, Cheryl Hines<\/strong>, Susie Essman<\/strong>, J.B. Smoove<\/strong> and Richard Lewis.<\/strong> Vince Vaughn<\/strong> and Tracey Ullman<\/strong> will join the show for season 12.<\/p>\n

The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series premiered with an hour-long special in October 1999. The first eight seasons of the series aired from 2000 to 2011. Curb<\/em> then took a six-year hiatus before returning for a ninth season in 2017. Seasons 10 and 11 aired in 2020 and 2021, respectively..<\/p>\n
