\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Storm Reid<\/strong><\/a> is speaking up over the backlash over the queer relationship between her character Riley and Bella Ramsey<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Ellie, on HBO\u2019s The Last of Us<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n While the series experienced a bout of review bombing over a previous gay relationship<\/a> on the show, the 19-year-old actress spoke to Entertainment Weekly<\/a> about her own character\u2019s relationship with Ellie that was the center of this weekend\u2019s episode.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cLike Bella said when episode 3 came out: If you don\u2019t like it, don\u2019t watch,\u201d Storm <\/strong>said matter of factly. \u201cWe are telling important stories. We\u2019re telling stories of people\u2019s experiences, and that\u2019s what I live for.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, That\u2019s what makes good storytelling, because we are telling stories of people who are taking up space in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n During the episode, fans watched as Riley spent what was her last day in Boston (and in human form) with Ellie at an abandoned mall. There, they spent some time on a carousel, a photo booth, the arcade, and the escalator, aka \u201cmoving stairs\u201d. This all lead up to Ellie and Riley\u2019s first kiss.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s 2023. If you\u2019re concerned about who I love, then I need you to get your priorities straight,\u201d Storm <\/strong>added about those upset. \u201cThere\u2019s so many other things to worry about in life. Why are you concerned that these young people \u2014 or anybody \u2014 love each other? Love is beautiful, and the fact that people have things to say about it, it\u2019s just nonsense.\u201d<\/p>\n She concluded, \u201cI\u2019m sure people are gonna have things to say\u2026but I don\u2019t care because I\u2019m proud of what we did and I\u2019m proud of the story that we told and I\u2019m proud of the people that we\u2019re representing.\u201d<\/p>\n The Last of Us<\/em> airs on Sundays on HBO and streaming on HBO Max.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
