Vanderpump Rules<\/em><\/a> fans are getting an inside look into how the cast renegotiated their salaries in the aftermath of Tom Sandoval<\/strong><\/a> and Rachel \u201cRaquel\u201d Leviss<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 affair.<\/p>\n

Executive producer Alex Baskin<\/strong> recalled the conversations that took place about season 11 paychecks<\/a>, telling the Los Angeles Times<\/em><\/a> on Sunday, January 28, \u201cThis is as hard as it\u2019s ever been because typically, we have a rate card, a tenure card, we\u2019ve used in prior seasons. There are all sorts of asks across the board.\u201d<\/p>\n

There were certain requests that were immediately rejected despite the success of the show<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomething like a producer credit is off the table because that isn\u2019t something that we could open up,\u201d Baskin noted. \u201cBut otherwise, I knew that it would take a little bit of time for the cast expectations to settle. Because a lot of the time too, we are making sure that they\u2019re aware of the state of the industry and the fact that shows are challenged these days.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tVanderpump Rules cast members have offered glimpses at how much they\u2019ve earned during their respective tenures on the hit Bravo series. The topic of paychecks has come up in various circumstances over the years since Vanderpump Rules debuted in 2013. Following Raquel Leviss and Tom Sandoval\u2018s shocking affair behind Ariana Madix\u2019s back \u2014 which came [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Baskin understood why the Vanderpump Rules<\/em> cast was expecting a raise because of how Sandoval and Leviss\u2019 scandal rocked<\/a> the Bravo universe. After Sandoval\u2019s split from Ariana Madix<\/strong> due to his infidelity made headlines<\/a> in March 2023, the entire cast reunited to film a new finale for season 10. They also hashed out the drama during the dramatic reunion, which delivered record-breaking ratings for Bravo and Peacock.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir point is, rightfully, \u2018You guys are touting the show\u2019s success. Where is our piece of that?\u2019 Those are tough conversations,\u201d Baskin admitted on Sunday. \u201cI did think that everybody, with the exception of Rachel, who had to make a personal decision, wanted to come back. Everybody did better than what they had previously gotten.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leviss\u2019 participation in season 11 was initially up in the air<\/a> after she checked herself into a mental health treatment facility in April 2023. Her three-month stay resulted in her missing the first weeks of production, and Leviss later confirmed her exit<\/a> from Vanderpump Rules<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked for equal pay with Tom and Ariana and for them to reimburse me for my treatment expenses. They refused to pay me equally,\u201d Leviss claimed on Bethenny Frankel<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cReWives\u201d podcast in August 2023 about one of the reasons for her exit. \u201cI feel like when you pay your employees, it really shows how much you value them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss\u2018 cheating scandal came with an unexpected paycheck for several Vanderpump Rules stars. When the Bravo series kicked off season 10 in February 2023, the topic on everyone\u2019s mind was Tom Schwartz\u2018s hookup with Leviss amid his divorce from Katie Maloney. One month later, Us Weekly confirmed that Sandoval and Ariana [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Baskin, however, recently claimed that Leviss, 29, was given a \u201chealthy offer\u201d<\/a> to return to the show. \u201cOur concern was whether it was the right thing for her anyway because at that point we weren\u2019t sure,\u201d he said on the Friday, January 26, episode of Scheana Shay<\/em>\u2018s \u201cScheananigans\u201d podcast. \u201cI thought it would have done well for her. I thought it would have been the right forum for her to tell her story. I felt good about it from that standpoint.\u201d<\/p>\n

The producer elaborated on the talks that took place, telling the Los Angeles Times<\/em>, \u201cWe had conversations with both her reps and her directly. Our first concern was how she was doing, and whether or not it made sense for her to come back \u2014 personally, emotionally. She was very conflicted about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baskin added: \u201cThere was, frankly, a lot of conversations about money. Her team was very clear that they felt that she should be rewarded. At one point, they raised the idea of her getting a development deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Season 11 subsequently filmed with Sandoval, Madix, Lala Kent<\/strong>, Shay, Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz <\/strong>and James Kennedy<\/strong>. Baskin has maintained that there were no regrets about not finding a way<\/a> to include Leviss in the new episodes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tVanderpump Rules has officially been renewed for season 11 \u2014 and viewers are in for a messy return in the aftermath of Raquel Leviss and Tom Sandoval\u2018s cheating scandal. Us Weekly confirmed in March 2023 that Sandoval and Ariana Madix had called it quits after nearly a decade of dating due to his infidelity. As [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe would have liked it [if she came back] because I think there\u2019s a great interest in how she was doing,\u201d he said on Sunday. \u201cI think that she would have been surprised by the consideration that was given to her, and I think, as you\u2019ll see in the first episode, there was a willingness to hear her out. And I\u2019m not saying that everything would have healed right away. But I think it would have been a different experience than she would have anticipated.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baskin showed support for Leviss\u2019 decision to create space between herself and Sandoval<\/a>, adding, \u201cI will say on the other side of things, if she still wanted to move on from Tom and didn\u2019t want anything to do with him, then perhaps her absence allowed that to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
