Blank space, indeed! Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> might be the most famous person on the planet at the moment, and her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> has dominated the news for the past several months. However, that didn\u2019t stop Travis\u2019s dad, Ed Kelce<\/strong>, from drawing a blank on the \u201cExile\u201d singer the first time he met her.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Travis has a lot of friends coming into town to the game<\/a>, everyone meets at his house, although he\u2019s not there,\u201d Ed said in a guest appearance on Audacy\u2019s 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland on January 26. \u201cTaylor walks in with a security guy, and I look at her, and I say [to my girlfriend], \u2018Oh my god, I know this kid, but I don\u2019t know what her name is.\u2019 Jeez, you know, like a real idiot. And [my girlfriend] says, \u2018You don\u2019t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Ed also got candid about other aspects of Taylor\u2019s life, including whether or not he believed that the Grammy award winner was \u201ctrying to build this big empire.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know that Taylor is out there trying to make money,\u201d Ed told the station. \u201cI think she\u2019s out there following her passion<\/a>, doing what she knows and what she enjoys, and people are just throwing money at her, you know what I mean.\u201d<\/p>\n The Kelce patriarch, who Travis, 34, and brother Jason Kelce<\/strong> lovingly refer to as \u201cPapa Kelce,\u201d confessed that he\u2019s become more recognizable to the public as the media attention continues to focus on Taylor, 34, and Travis\u2019 relationship.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s eyes on you every place you go. It\u2019s funny because last year, Donna<\/strong> and I were shown on TV screens<\/a>, and we had some articles that were done,\u201d Ed explained. \u201cSo, our [names were] out there. We were so popular, the Commissioner offered to let us sit in the box for the Super Bowl\u2026 More people recognize us since he started dating Taylor, though \u2014 I\u2019ll be [in] the grocery store, somebody will smile and say, \u2018Hey!\u2019 Come over and say [hi], and I have no idea who they are. That has certainly picked up<\/a> and become more frequent by a long shot than the before Taylor days.\u201d<\/p>\n The Kelce brothers have both joked about their dad\u2019s relationship with Taylor, and in an October 2023 episode of their podcast, \u201cNew Heights,\u201d Travis revealed that Ed had started listening to her music more<\/a>. Jason, 36, then took a moment to reenact what he thought Ed said to the pop star during one of their meetings at a Chiefs game.<\/p>\n \u201cHe said, \u2018Now I\u2019ve taken all of your CDs out at the local library, and I\u2019ve burned them onto my computer,’\u201d Jason said jokingly. \u201cBecause that is legal, as a tax paying citizen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
