Pogues and Kooks unite!\u00a0Outer Banks<\/a><\/i>\u00a0features some enviable onscreen romance, especially between\u00a0Chase Stokes<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Madelyn Cline<\/b><\/a>\u2019s characters, John B. and Sarah, respectively. With love comes PDA, and the actors have had to film quite a few steamy moments together, from sex to kissing scenes. Her character, Sarah, has been linked to Topper (Austin North<\/b>) and John B.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In May 2020, Madelyn explained to\u00a0Cosmopolitan<\/i><\/a>\u00a0how she had to prepare for her steamy makeout sessions with Chase.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cKissing onscreen is very awkward because you have to worry about angles, and you have to worry about where the camera is, and you have to remember where your head was in this moment,\u201d she explained. \u201cIt\u2019s very \u2026 it\u2019s a little nerve-racking, and at the same time, you have to make sure you\u2019re not eating each other\u2019s faces. It still has to look good. It definitely wasn\u2019t a one and done.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In one particular kiss with Chase, Madelyn<\/a> recalled how the scene was intended for a sunny day, but rainfall soon impacted production. Nevertheless, the crew decided to go with the flow and pay homage to the rainy kiss from\u00a0The Notebook<\/i>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI remember Chase, [creator]\u00a0Jonas [Pate]<\/b>\u00a0and I kinda looked at each other, and we were all like, \u2018Let\u2019s do it. We gotta do this. This is amazing, this is kismet right now, that is so romantic,\u2019\u201d the Netflix star told the outlet. \u201cWe made sure with our camera department and everybody that it was OK because you\u2019re asking a lot of people to stand out in the rain. [The crew] was like, \u2018Hell yes, we\u2019re doing this, full\u00a0Notebook<\/i>\u00a0vibes.\u2019 And, yeah, so, we just dedicated the entire day to making sure we did that scene justice.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The former real-life couple later went on to win the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Kiss.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Although making out with a costar is one thing, shooting a sex scene is another, and Madelyn has gotten candid on how it feels to portray a passionate moment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As for Sarah and John B.\u2019s first time together, fans recall that the two started getting it on, but the scene was brief. During her May 2020\u00a0Cosmopolitan<\/i>\u00a0interview, she revealed there was a reason for its brevity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThat was a choice that\u00a0Valerie Weiss<\/b>\u00a0\u2014 our director for 7 and 8 \u2014 Chase<\/a> and myself made,\u201d the\u00a0Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery\u00a0<\/i>actress said. \u201cWe wanted there to be a differentiation between the scene with Topper and the scene with John B. It was dictated in the script that Topper and Sarah are getting pretty hot and heavy, and there\u2019s a little bit of partial nudity going on.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She then described the moment between Sarah and Topper when they were an item, in which Sarah appeared to change her mind about having sex and Topper reacting angrily.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIn episode 3, I believe, you see Topper really, really driving that whole interaction with her,\u201d Madelyn continued. \u201cYou see him really pushing for this. It\u2019s obvious that he\u2019s asked if she wants to go to third base, and it\u2019s obvious that she\u2019s said \u2018no\u2019 in the past, and he\u2019s kind of pushing the pen a bit. She says \u2018yes,\u2019 and then all of a sudden, you see her have this moment panicking, and she\u2019s like, \u2018No, no, no, this is too much.\u2019 With the scene in the bell tower, we could have taken [the scene with Chase] further \u2014 and Valerie obviously asked, she asked if I wanted to. But I told her I really wanted it to be really sweet.
