Saturday Night Live<\/i><\/a>\u2019s second episode of 2024 will also serve as a mini The Social Network <\/i>reunion for Justin Timberlake<\/strong><\/a> and Dakota Johnson<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve come a long way. See you tonight, Stanford!\u201d Timberlake, 42, wrote via his Instagram Story on Saturday, January 27, sharing a still of himself in bed from the 2010 film. He also tagged the official Instagram accounts for Johnson, 34, and SNL<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Timberlake played Napster founder Sean Parker in The Social Network<\/i>, which told the story<\/a> of how Mark Zuckerberg<\/strong> (played by Jesse Eisenberg<\/strong>) invented Facebook. In one scene, Timberlake\u2019s character wakes up after a hookup with a Stanford University student (played by Johnson). While Sean couldn\u2019t remember his fling\u2019s name, he did learn about Facebook after she left her laptop open to the webpage. (Sean later reached out to Mark to swap business tips.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWe shot that scene in one day, and that day Terrence Malick<\/strong> came to set to watch how David [Fincher<\/strong>, the director] was working with digital, and I was like, \u2018What?\u2019\u201d Johnson recalled during a January 2022 interview with Vanity Fair <\/i><\/a>and costar Andrew Garfield<\/strong>. \u201cI was so nervous. Before you shoot anything, I don\u2019t sleep, and you kind of have that hollow, nervous, shaky feeling, but it was amazing. It was the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the years before Facebook became little more than a lightning rod for criticism, the social media platform and its cofounder Mark Zuckerberg\u00a0were the subject of the 2010 film\u00a0The Social Network. Jesse Eisenberg starred as Zuckerberg in the movie, which was based on\u00a0The Accidental Billionaires, a 2009 book by Ben Mezrich. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Garfield played Eduardo Saverin<\/strong> in The Social Network<\/i>, Zuckerberg\u2019s app cofounder, and remembered feeling starstruck by Timberlake.<\/p>\n

I saw, like, a board with cue cards and some of his internal choices and substitutions and I was like, \u2018Oh, I must leave and as I leave, I must let my eyes linger for as long as possible as I leave,\u2019 because I mean, of course, because it\u2019s just there and thank God it wasn\u2019t anything bad. It was only cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
