A New York jury has found Donald Trump liable for the defamatory comments he made about E Jean Carroll, calling her a liar and suggesting a sexual encounter with her was impossible because she was \u201cnot my type.\u201d<\/p>\n
It took the jury of seven men and two women less than three hours to reach a verdict on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The court has ordered Trumplethinskin to pay $83.3 million to Carroll<\/b>, with the payment consisting of $65m for punitive damages and 18.3 in compensatory damages.<\/p>\n
Carroll said in a statement after the verdict: “This is a great victory for every woman who stands up when she’s been knocked down, and a huge defeat for every bully who has tried to keep a woman down”.<\/p>\n
Predictably, the Tangerine Toddler threw a tantrum on Truth(?) Social at the result, slamming the verdict as part of a \u201cBiden directed witch Hunt\u201d and that the US legal system was being used as a \u201cpolitical weapon\u201d to target him. \u201cThey have taken away all First Amendment Rights. THIS IS NOT AMERICA!\u201d<\/p>\n
He has vowed to appeal the decision.<\/p>\n
