Twenty years after starring in the original Mean Girls<\/em>, Lindsay Lohan<\/strong><\/a> popped up in a surprise, Mathlete-adjacent cameo in the new movie musical<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 37-year-old was reportedly paid $500,000 for a half-day\u2019s work to film the scene and showed up on the January 8 premiere\u2019s red carpet in New York City. Asked if she considers herself a \u201ccool mom,\u201d a la the flick\u2019s memorable matriarch, Lindsay, who welcomed son Luai<\/a> with husband Bader Shammas<\/strong><\/a> in July, quipped, \u201cI hope so!\u201d<\/p>\n How times have changed. Once the poster girl for young Hollywood gone bad, the Long Island\u2013born actress has turned her life around in more ways than one. After dropping out of acting and moving to Dubai, over the past few years the former child star has begun both an acting comeback and an image overhaul and is happier than ever.<\/p>\n \u201cShe acknowledges that it took a few twists and turns to get to this place,\u201d an insider exclusively tells Life & Style<\/em>. \u201cBut that\u2019s all part of growing up.\u201d<\/p>\n Her childhood was far from normal. A stunningly talented actor, Lindsay broke out in 1998\u2019s The Parent Trap<\/em>, going on to make such teen classics as Freaky Friday<\/em> and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen<\/em>. Behind the scenes, however, her life was turbulent.<\/p>\n Bullied at the public school she attended, she was also caught between her warring parents at home. After their 2007 divorce, the actress said she had felt like a \u201csecond parent\u201d to her three siblings.<\/p>\n \u201cI was put between my mother and father a lot.\u201d (Both Dina and Michael Lohan<\/strong> have had brushes with the law.) Then there was Lindsay\u2019s own bad behavior.<\/p>\n As one of the 2000s party girls<\/a>, alongside Paris Hilton<\/strong>, Britney Spears<\/strong> and others, she was snapped stumbling out of clubs. DUIs and rehab stays followed. Her erratic behavior on the set of 2005\u2019s Herbie Fully Loaded<\/em> made headlines. As recently as 2018, a video of her woozily dancing in Mykonos, Greece, went viral.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was so embarrassing,\u201d Lindsay later said. \u201cI was having fun, it was Pride. I was just feeling it.\u201d<\/p>\n That was then. \u201cLindsay considers that chapter of her life closed,\u201d notes the insider. After moving to Dubai, the actress met financier Bader while out with friends at a restaurant. The pair spoke for hours, Lindsay told Allure<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then I said to him, \u2018I feel like you\u2019re the person I\u2019m going to be with forever.\u2019 I\u2019d never been able to talk to someone like this.\u201d The pair wed in April 2022 and continue to live in Dubai with their son<\/a>.<\/p>\n The romance came at the same time as a career resurgence. The 36-year-old proposed while the two were in Utah, where Lindsay was shooting her well-received Netflix movie Falling for Christmas<\/em>. (She recently wrapped Irish Wish<\/em> for the streamer.)<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s all for doing more movies so long as they have a wholesome message behind them and they don\u2019t conflict with her family life,\u201d says the insider. \u201cShe\u2019s all about balance now.\u201d<\/p>\n With Dubai\u2019s strict privacy laws, Lindsay feels free out of the spotlight. \u201cShe didn\u2019t want to be a celebrity,\u201d explains the insider. \u201cAll she wanted was to have a home, a husband and a family and some measure of stability.\u201d<\/p>\n Lindsay describes her new life in a villa by the beach as calm and orderly. \u201cI really love structure because I don\u2019t think I had that when I was young,\u201d she\u2019s said. \u201cEverything was coming so fast, and I had so many things happening. My only structure was filming and being on set.\u201d<\/p>\n As she dips her toes back into moviemaking, Lindsay\u2019s also thinking about something closer to home: babymaking. \u201cShe and Bader have been talking about another baby and they want to make that happen in the next year or two,\u201d says the insider. \u201cLindsay feels like her life has never been better.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\nWild Child<\/h2>\n
