Following their eight Oscar nominations, Barbie<\/em><\/a> is returning to theaters once again \u2014 but only for a limited time.<\/p>\n

In a press announcement<\/a> released earlier this month, Jeff Goldstein<\/strong>, the president of domestic distribution at Warner Bros., and Andrew Cripps<\/strong>, the studio\u2019s head of international distribution, shared that Barbie<\/em> was returning to theaters for one week beginning on Friday, January 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve said it before and we\u2019ll say it again, we\u2019ve never seen anything like the absolute cultural phenomenon that is Barbie<\/em>,\u201d they wrote in a joint statement at the time. \u201cThis masterful vision for Mattel\u2019s doll could only have come from the creative minds of [director and co-writer] Greta Gerwig<\/strong> and [co-writer] Noah Baumbach<\/strong>, and in Greta\u2019s hands Barbie<\/em> became a must-go, must-see, must-wear pink cinematic experience that was a brilliantly subversive commentary on our society, couched in an undeniably entertaining story.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement went on to share that Gerwig, 40, along with the rest of the cast and crew, especially Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling<\/strong> and America Ferrera<\/strong>, made a film that will be \u201cviewed and talked about for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re proud to have it as part of the Warner library of classics, and are excited to give moviegoers another chance to experience Barbie<\/em> on the big screen,\u201d they shared.<\/p>\n

After making over $1 billion<\/a> at the box office, Barbie<\/em> earned eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Screenplay.<\/p>\n

Despite its success, Gerwig was passed over for the Best Director category at the Academy Awards, while Robbie, 33, did not appear in the Best Actress category for her performance, causing some other cast members to get frustrated.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no Ken without Barbie<\/a>, and there is no Barbie<\/em> movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally-celebrated film,\u201d Gosling, 43, shared in a Tuesday, January 23, statement. \u201cTo say that I\u2019m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement.\u201d<\/p>\n
