Star Trek: Picard<\/em>\u2019s final season sees Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) reuniting with some of his USS Enterprise crewmates, including Worf (Michael Dorn), William Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), and Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) as they face off against a new foe, Vadic (Amanda Plummer).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The season premiere, aptly titled \u201cThe Next Generation,\u201d debuted on Paramount Plus last week, with the streamer adding new episodes each Thursday. In a review of the show\u2019s first six episodes<\/a>, The Verge<\/em>\u2019s managing editor Alex Cranz calls the show a \u201cvery fun sequel to Star Trek: The Next Generation:\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n While this season puts its characters in terrible spots, and there are rumors a few will die by season\u2019s end, this wild ride has a real genuine affection for all the players. It\u2019s the absolute most fun I\u2019ve had watching Paramount Plus\u2019 myriad of\u00a0Star Trek<\/em>\u00a0shows. And part of my love of this final season comes from how excited the show is to take some of\u00a0Star Trek<\/em>\u2019s most flawless heroes and find the humanity in them.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n You\u2019ll have to pay for a Paramount Plus subscription if you want to catch the rest of the episodes, and, unfortunately, the streamer\u2019s planning on increasing its prices soon<\/a>. Paramount also doesn\u2019t specify how long the episode will be available for, so if you\u2019ve been debating whether to get back into Star Trek<\/em>, now seems like a good time to do it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
