Paulina Porizkova<\/strong><\/a> managed to squeeze in one last vacation before heading to the hospital for double hip replacement surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom bikini to hospital chic \u2026. Long overdue now- hip replacement,\u201d Porizkova, 58, shared via Instagram<\/a> on Thursday, January 25, alongside one photo of her in a bikini and another snap that showed her in a hospital bed.<\/p>\n

The model went on to share that she was born with \u201ccongenital hip dysplasia,\u201d which has caused the \u201ccartilage\u201d in her hips to be \u201cworn out.\u201d (According to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>, hip dysplasia is when a hip socket doesn\u2019t fully cover the ball portion of the upper thighbone, causing the joint to become partially or completely dislocated.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe three doctors I\u2019ve visited all recoiled when they saw my x-rays,\u201d Porizkova noted. \u201c\u2018Well, it\u2019s bone on bone,\u2019 they exclaimed. \u2018At least we know you\u2019re good with pain tolerance!\u2019 It\u2019s so bad, in fact, that doing one hip at the time is pointless. It would actually impede the healing and mobility.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPaulina Porizkova wants Us to stop worrying about aging. The model has made it her mission to show her fans the beauty of getting older by sharing inspirational quotes, unfiltered bikini photos and poised clapbacks to those who don\u2019t agree. In August 2022, the Czech Republic native fired back at a plastic surgeon who she [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Porizkova added that she had \u201cone last vacation with old hips\u201d and now must undergo her surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have my [boyfriend] Jeff [Greenstein]<\/strong> at my side, my mom and papa Joe, my boys and a slew of friends volunteering to come and bring me soup,\u201d Porizkova explained. (The model shares sons Jonathan, 30, and Oliver, 25, with late ex-husband Ric Ocasek<\/strong>.) \u201cAnd even as I\u2019m anxious about the surgery \u2013 in a general \u2018surgery-is-not-how-I\u2019d-like-to-spend-my-free-time\u2019 \u2013 I\u2019m so grateful this is a fixable problem!\u201d<\/p>\n

Porizkova concluded her post by sharing that she found a \u201cdoctor [she] really trusts\u201d and also had an \u201camazing vacation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now \u2014 like my sis-in-law said \u2014 \u2018Take a break from kicking ass and let everyone wait on YOU for a change!\u2019 So, here I go,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n

Porizkova has previously been open about her health and how she copes with her changing body as she gets older.<\/p>\n
