Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> has shot to global stardom since sparking a romance with Taylor Swift<\/strong>, but he\u2019s still the same person he\u2019s always been according to teammate Patrick Mahomes<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTravis has always been Travis,\u201d Mahomes, 28, told reporters on Wednesday, January 24, per NBC Sports\u2019 Pro Football Talk. <\/em><\/a>Mahomes noted that it\u2019s been \u201ccool\u201d to watch his longtime pal remain grounded despite the extra attention. \u201cHe\u2019s been himself the whole time. He\u2019s still Travis Kelce. He\u2019ll still walk through the stadium and treat everyone like they\u2019re his best friend and he\u2019s always going to be like that. It hasn\u2019t been any different to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Kelce and Swift, both 34, have caused a media flurry with their relationship over the past few months, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been a household name among football fans since being drafted into the NFL in 2013. \u201cI\u2019ve come to work every single day and lucky enough that I have a lot of great players around me and Travis is one of them,\u201d Mahomes said of his teammate.<\/p>\n

Even separate from his romance with Swift, Kelce has made a name for himself outside of football. Over the past few years, he has starred his own dating show, Catching Kelce<\/em>, served as the face of the biopharmaceutical company Pfizer and achieved a lifelong dream of hosting Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

While Mahomes told reporters on Wednesday that he was unable to make Kelce\u2019s March 2023 SNL<\/em> hosting debut because of a childhood friend\u2019s bachelor party, the quarterback said it was \u201creally cool\u201d to watch Kelce on the late-night sketch series as he\u2019s been a fan of the show for years.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Travis] knows all he skits from guys who have been in Saturday Night Live<\/em> growing up and he\u2019s always telling me about the ones from before I was even born,\u201d Mahomes quipped. \u201cAnd I\u2019m like, \u2018Trav I\u2019m not the same age as you I don\u2019t know what that is.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Mahomes added that it was \u201cdefinitely a goal\u201d of Kelce\u2019s to appear on the NBC series, let alone host it, saying, \u201cHopefully down the line, he\u2019ll be able to do more of that type of stuff after he\u2019s done playing football.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelce, for his part, recently expressed his excitement over expanding his career opportunities beyond his on-field talents.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been fortunate to do a few things outside of the sports world that I\u2019ve been enjoying doing<\/a>, like getting on camera,\u201d he explained during a January 11 press conference. \u201cThe SNL<\/em> stuff kind of opened up a new happiness and a new career path for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite being open to future possibilities in the entertainment industry, Kelce noted that it\u2019s \u201cfunny\u201d to even discuss life after the NFL because it\u2019s \u201cso much further down the road\u201d for him right now.<\/p>\n
