The \u2018Modern Family\u2019 actress, 53, who has made the move from her comedy role on the ABC show to playing a drug lord in Netflix\u2019s upcoming \u2018Griselda\u2019, added despite her looks leading her to getting a foot in the door of showbusiness, her personality is another key to her success. <\/p>\n
She told Spanish newspaper El Pais about her looks being the passport to fame: \u201cIt would be absurd to deny it or for that to make me feel bad. <\/p>\n
\u201cMy giant boobs and my body opened doors for me; they were my passport to the world when I was 20 years old when I started as a model, but today I\u2019m 51 years old and I\u2019m still here.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cI don\u2019t do brain surgery, it\u2019s just entertainment, and the worst that can happen to me is that they can say I look ugly or that this jackass doesn\u2019t know how to act. I can take it. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThere are women who are prettier, younger, who have bigger breasts and a better body than me, but I\u2019m still around because I have demonstrated that I can stay. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cFrom a very young age, I\u2019ve known my strengths and I\u2019ve played to them. But if you only see my boobs, then that\u2019s your problem.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nThe actress also confirmed the reason for her split from Joe Manganiello, 47, who filed for divorce from the star in July 2023 after seven years of marriage. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cMy marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn\u2019t want to be an old mom. I feel it\u2019s not fair to the baby.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSofia stressed she has \u201crespect\u201d for anyone who wants to have babies later in life but said it was \u201cnot for (her) anymore\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nSofia, who has 32-year-old son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara with her first husband, Joe Gonzalez, added: \u201cI had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I\u2019m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m almost in menopause; it\u2019s the natural way of things. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhen my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while and then I\u2019ll give it back to him and go on with my life; that\u2019s what I have to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
