John Cena<\/strong><\/a> isn\u2019t quite ready to say goodbye to wrestling just yet \u2014 but he does have plans to do so soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s not a maybe,\u201d Cena, 46, told Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, January 23. \u201cThat time is gonna come and it\u2019s gonna come soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cena made his debut in the WWE<\/a> in 2002. He noted he\u2019s \u201chad at least one match every year\u201d since and doesn\u2019t \u201cintend to miss a year\u201d for \u201cas long as [he] can perform.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI made a promise to the consumer early on, to WWE fans, \u2019cause I know how tough it is to be a fan. You gotta come out of pocket \u2014 and WWE has a ton of content \u2014 it takes a lot to be a passionate fan and our fanbase is passionate and global,\u201d he said. \u201cI never wanted to go out there just for the sake of going out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cena said he feels \u201cgreat\u201d ahead of turning 47.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo inside I feel great, but I know what it takes to be a WWE performer night in and night out and I don\u2019t ever wanna just go out there and do it to do it,\u201d he said. \u201cI wanna have the passion \u2014 the same passion as the fanbase \u2014 and I wanna give them exactly what they give me. The miles on the speedometer say, \u2018Hey, that\u2019s gotta be done before 50.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Cena made his transition to acting during a break from wrestling in 2006. He\u2019s since starred in several notable films, including Trainwreck<\/em>, Blockers<\/em> and the upcoming 2024 movie Argylle<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s tough to juggle both because, you know, when you\u2019re filming Argylle<\/em>, Matthew [Vaughn]<\/strong> won\u2019t let you go do anything else because of insurance,\u201d he joked of the film\u2019s director. \u201cSo as long as the phone keeps ringing and we\u2019ve had some good opportunities here, I\u2019ll kind of preserve that for as long as I can. But even coming back for these one-at-a-time things or short three-month periods, it takes its toll more and more and I\u2019ve just had an incredibly fortunate run with my health. I feel great. I just want to continue to feel great the rest of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
