TikTok video<\/a>, Jonathan \u2013 who noted that the first two episodes of the reboot had been filmed before it was canceled \u2013 said, \u201cBasically, it starts in New York. Lizzie\u2019s been working and living there as an interior designer, and she\u2019s dating this very, very handsome chef. And she ends up finding that he\u2019s been cheating on her with her best friend.\u201d<\/p>\nThe discovery causes Lizzie to flee New York. \u201cShe, at the end of the pilot, goes home to California\u2014to the home we all saw in the original show, and she\u2019s in her childhood bedroom where little animated Lizzie has been waiting for her.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSomeone had commented \u2018Are Lizzie and Gordo endgame?’\u201d he continued, referring to the character\u2019s BFF from the original series, played by Adam Lamberg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\u201cYou would have got an answer to that in episode two,\u201d Jonathan told viewers, explaining, \u201cLizzie meets up with Gordo, who she\u2019s just kind of been in touch with via text over the years, occasionally. And they meet up, and Gordo reveals that he is engaged, engaged to a woman, and she\u2019s pregnant and they\u2019re really happy. So no, in this version, Lizzie and Gordo would not have ended up together.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEpisode two ends with Lizzie getting a text from Ethan Craft and little animated Lizzie faints,\u201d Jonathan revealed.<\/p>\n
Sadly, episode three was never filmed, although Jonathan noted, \u201cThere was a script for it.\u201d He shared, \u201cLizzie wakes up in Ethan\u2019s bed in his water polo T-shirt. And animated Lizzie pops up, and she has this little checklist, like a to-do list. And Ethan is on the list, and she checks it off. And I think she says something like, \u2018Well, checked that box,\u2019 followed by a dramatic pause before adding, \u2018Twice.’\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, I saw another comment about \u2018Were there certain storylines as to why maybe Disney wasn\u2019t comfortable [with the reboot],’\u201d the writer continued, adding, \u201cMy guess is that\u2019s probably one of them,\u201d even though the characters weren\u2019t seen having sex.<\/p>\n
Hilary, 36, played the title role on the Disney Channel hit from 2001 through 2004, including a movie in 2003. She revealed how heartbroken she was that the reboot was scrapped during a 2021 appearance on Good Morning America<\/em>.<\/p>\n\u201cIt was a big disappointment, obviously,\u201d Hilary shared, adding, \u201cI will forever be grateful for the two episodes that we did shoot. It was a really special two weeks of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
In May 2022, Hilary dished on Disney allegedly getting \u201cspooked\u201d by Lizzie\u2019s more mature life.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe had to be 30 years old doing 30-year-old things,\u201d the actress told Women\u2019s Heath<\/em>, adding, \u201cShe didn\u2019t need to be doing bong rips and having one-night stands all the time, but it had to be authentic. I think they got spooked.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
